Giles, Baum, Weinhold And More Join PICT's THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP

Martin Giles, Karen Baum, Jordon Ross Weinhold and more join the cast of PICT Classic Theatre's upcoming production of The Old Curiosity Shop.

The opening production of PICT's 22nd Season is The Old Curiosity Shop, adapted and directed by Alan Stanford from the novel by Charles Dickens.

It is the story of a journey made by Little Nell, a fourteen-year-old girl and her grandfather, the proprietor of the eponymous shop. The play follows them through England as they run from the evil moneylender, Quilp, who seeks the money he lent to the grandfather as investment, but whose addiction to gambling has brought about his ruin. On the journey, they meet with a mixture of kindness and ill fortune, and some of the most memorable characters drawn from the imagination of Charles Dickens.

The Old Curiosity Shop will open on November 23rd and perform through December 15th, 2018. All performances will be held at WQED's Fred Rogers Studio in Oakland, 4802 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213.

The production will feature Martin Giles (Studio Theatre's Translations, PICT's Waiting For Godot, The Kreutzer Sonata) as Daniel Quilp, James FitzGerald (PICT's Waiting For Godot, Sharon's Grave, Oliver Twist) as Brass, Karen Baum (PICT's Jane Eyre, Educating Rita, Pittsburgh Public Theatre's Noises Off) as Sally Brass, Jordon Ross Weinhold (Ephrata Performing Art Center's Peter and the Starcatcher, PICT's Great Expectations) as Dick Swiveller, Jonathan Visser (PICT's Romeo and Juliet, Pittsburgh Public Theatre's Hamlet) as Short / Garland and Ken Bolden (PICT's The Merchant of Venice, Pittsburgh Public Theatre's The Diary Of Anne Frank) as Codlin / Witherden.

Additional casting includes Patrick Conner as Grandfather, Jake Epstein as Kit, Calema Graham as The Marchioness, Matt Henderson as The Boy, Kaitlin Kerr as the Landlady/Mrs. Quilp, Sean Lenhart as Fred Trent / Schoolmaster, Caroline Lucas as Nell Trent, Kendra McLaughlin as Mrs. Jarley / Mrs. Nubbles, and Jeff Monahan as the Single Gentleman.
