Ryan Michael Crimmins to Lead ABT's JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Opening 7/12

By:

For its landmark 60th Mainstage production, Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT) - the highest-attended, live year-round theatre in the Valley of the Sun - will produce the epic Biblical saga Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from July 12-August 18. Tickets can be purchased now at azbroadway.org or by calling the ABT box office at (623) 776-8400.

First appearing on Broadway in 1982, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat received a number of Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, for its portrayal of the classic story of Joseph. Embracing Joseph's ability to believe in his dreams against all odds, the story chronicles his journey toward greatness. Encountering a number of obstacles including his jealous brothers and a powerful Pharoah, he learns the value of reconciliation and forgiveness.

"This show displays important messages to follow your dreams, forgive and recognize the strength of family bonds," said Joe Martinez, director of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. "Combine those elements with ABT's fantastical production abilities and Joseph is the fun and inspiring summer entertainment families are looking for."

The energetic cast of professional actors, singers and dancers is primarily made up of ABT alumni. Leading the cast as Joseph, is New York-based Ryan Michael Crimmins who most recently appeared on the ABT Mainstage as Freddy in My Fair Lady. Joining Crimmins is Arizona native Laura Berger who will be playing the role of the Narrator. Fellow cast members include Jesse Berger (9 to 5) as Jacob and Jeremy Sartin (All Shook Up) as Zebulon. The production will also include more than 50 children from the Valley throughout the show. Kurtis W. Overby will also be returning as the choreographer for the production.

Tickets are on sale now for evening and matinee performances. Prices vary according to date, time and availability. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is suitable for all audiences; wrap your entire family in this glorious coat of many colors.
