Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert revives the good old days of rock 'n' roll with the rollicking jukebox musical Life Could Be A Dream. Delight and hum along to the '60s mega-hits Fools Fall in Love, Tears on My Pillow, Runaround Sue, Stay Just a Little Bit Longer, Unchained Melody, The Glory of Love, and as the DJs used to say on the radio, many, many more. The toe-tapping doo-wop musical starts January 16th and runs through April 17th, playing Mondays and Tuesdays with select Wednesday shows.

The musical action is set in the fictitious Springfield, where a fledgling quintet "Denny and the Dreamers" are preparing to enter the Big Whopper Radio contest to achieve their dreams of hitting the big time. Hailed by the LA Weekly newspaper as the best musical of the year just a few years ago, Life Could Be A Dream will leave audiences singing, laughing and cheering.

It is one of Roger Bean's several witty jukebox musicals. Hale has previously produced two of them in recent years, The Andrews Brothers and The Marvelous Wonderettes. All were sold-out performances and tickets are already going fast for Life Could Be A Dream.

Hale's production features five young talented singers, dancers and actors. Vinny Chavez, an ariZoni Award winner, appears in his seventeenth show in the role of lead singer Denny Varney. Kale Burr appears in his ninth Hale show as the shy nerd, Eugene Johnson. Danny Karapetian in his sixteenth Hale production is church choir boy, Wally Patton, while Micah Jondel DeShazer, is the bad boy Skip Henderson who rounds out the quintet. Angela Kriese in her tenth Hale show, is the loveable Lois Franklin, who helps the boys with their moves and their confidence.

The live band, led by music director and pianist Lincoln Wright, features Tyler Flowers on saxophone, Steven Tessier on bass, and Krys VanSlyke on drums. The show is directed and choreographed by the multi-talented ariZoni Award winner Cambrian James.

Tickets for Life Could Be A Dream are available at the Hale Centre Theatre box office at 50 West Page Avenue in Gilbert or by calling 480-497-1181. You can also visit the theatre's website at www.HaleTheatreArizona.com to buy tickets. Hurry though, as shows are selling out quickly. Tickets are priced at $20 for youth and $32 for adults.

A gem of a theater, Hale is located in Gilbert's Heritage District, directly across the street from the Gilbert Water Tower Park. Several restaurants and ample free parking are located nearby.

Next up is the Broadway smash hit musical No, No, Nanette that begins in mid-February and plays through the end of March. The Importance of Being Earnest, the hilarious satire on Victorian manners by Oscar Wilde, appears from April 5th through May 12th. Big Fish, an entertaining big fish story set to music, is next from mid-May through the end of June. Sister Act, the uproarious musical comedy about a disco queen who takes refuge in a convent to hide from her mobster boyfriend, concludes Hale's 15th season. Sister Act plays at from July 6th through August 18th.
