Greasepaint Presents FOOTLOOSE

Everybody Cut Loose! Youthful rebellion is tearing through town in FOOTLOOSE presented by Greasepaint Theatre, September 14-23, 2018.

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the adjustment to his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the local laws - including a ban on dancing - which are the brainchild of a local preacher bent on exercising control over the town's youths. When the Reverend's rebellious daughter sets her heart on Ren, her boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation and many of the locals are eager to believe the worst about the new kid.

FOOTLOOSE is based on the 1984 hit motion picture that starred Kevin Bacon. The musical adaptation first opened on Broadway at the Richard Rogers Theatre on October 22, 1998, and ran for 737 performances.

The musical features the music of Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins and Jim Steinman. Some of the most memorable songs includes "Let's Hear it For the Boy," "Holding Out for a Hero," "Almost Paradise," and the Kenny Loggins' title song "Footloose."
