(It's not summer anymore in the Philippines!) There are only two seasons in the Philippines: the dry season and the wet season, which starts in June and ends in August (third quarter); nevertheless, the local theater scene remains bustling with noteworthy theatrical productions during these "bring your umbrella" months.

Below are our top-five picks for the third quarter:

Top 1: New Asian Tour of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER Kicks off in Manila

Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group, Ten Bridges Media Corp., and Robert Stigwood Organisation Ltd. present a reimagined production of London's West End and Broadway hit musical SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, featuring main cast members from New York: Brandon Rubendall ("Spider-man" on Broadway), Jenna Rubaii ("American Idiot"), and Nick Varricchio ("A Chorus Line").

This new production of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, which features famous songs by The Bee Gees, kicks off its first Asian Tour in eight years at The Theatre at Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila (July 3-26). Performances in Kuala Lumpur (September 1-5) and Singapore (September 25-October 11) are also set.

For tickets, call Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group at (632) 650 5144 or (6317) 838 1534 or visit TicketWorld at ticketworld.com.ph.

Top 2: Prepare to Get Wet at SINGIN' IN THE RAIN

Fresh off from its run in Singapore, the new international touring production of London's West End hit musical SINGIN' IN THE RAIN runs the show at The Theatre at Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila starting August 20.

To celebrate Father's Day this weekend, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN producers Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and Concertus Manila are discounting 10 percent on tickets purchased from yesterday until June 30. Valid on certain performances only, these discounted tickets are available at TicketWorld; call (632) 891 9999 or visit ticketworld.com.ph.

Hint: Choose the first three-row seats in the "splash zone" and get treated to a generous amount of "rain water" coming off the stage at the end of Acts One and Two.

Top 3: THE NORMAL HEART Plays One Weekend Only

Actors' Actors Inc. (The Necessary Theatre) stages the Asian premiere of Larry Kramer's THE NORMAL HEART, 2011 Tony Awards' Best Revival of a Play, which tackles the early rise of HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the '80s.

It plays Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza-Makati City on the first weekend of July (July 3-5).

For tickets, call (632) 215 0788 or (63917) 5378313. Also visit TicketWorld at ticketworld.com.ph.

Top 4: Watch the World Premiere of NO FILTER: A Play by Millennials for Millennials

The Sandbox Collective presents the world premiere of NO FILTER, an original play written by millennial artists.

This play will feature monologues on "anything and everything millennial--from the humble beginnings and evolution of social networks, life after college, the woes of work, pursuing one's passions, dating (on and offline), finding love and happiness, among other #issues."

It plays Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza-Makati City from July 25 to August 2.

For tickets, call The Sandbox Collective at (632) 585 6909 or (63917) 899 6680. Also visit TicketWorld at ticketworld.com.ph.

Top 5: ADMU Fine Arts Program Presents Itamar Moses' AUTHORIAL INTENT

Ateneo de Manila University's (ADMU) Fine Arts Program stages American playwright Itamar Moses' postmodern romantic comedy AUTHORIAL INTENT at Gonzaga Fine Arts Theater from June 24 to July 3.

Missy Maramara and Carlo Rivera, who both teach at ADMU, lead the cast; students Ann Nicole Ong and Manuel Jan Molina play the lead roles at certain performances.
