Lunise and Talie Cerin, Haitian-American sisters, will premiere MIWA in Philadelphia from November 6 to 8, marking the opening of Journey Arts' new season. This immersive film and music experience delves into themes of migration, cultural displacement, and the resilience of Haitian identity through a captivating five-part film and live performance. Lunise combines visual storytelling from Haiti and the U.S. while Talie offers a musical exploration of Haitian folk and spirituals. Audiences will journey through intimate spaces designed by Nia Benjamin, culminating in a performance that celebrates connection and belonging.
