4000 Miles by Amy Herzog Rolls Into the Spring Garden Mill

Langhorne Players’ second show of their 2025 Season is Amy Herzog's 4000 MILES. The story follows Leo Joseph-Connell, a wandering soul at 21, biking across the country when a sudden tragedy strikes and sends him from Washington State to Manhattan, alone on two wheels. Leo seeks refuge in the familiar home of his 91-year-old grandmother, Vera, a keen-witted confidant whose wisdom and irascible demeanor are just what he needs. Amy Herzog’s heartfelt comedy tackles issues of isolation, belonging, and navigating family matters in the modern political climate.

About the Director: Debi Kierst, making her directorial debut with Langhorne Players, has an extensive theatrical background, having recently moved to Pennsylvania from New Mexico. She quotes John Shand when talking about the play, “If your heart is sick or just needs warming, go and see this play. If you are a baby boomer who doesn't understand your grandchildren or are from Gen Y and, like, really weirded out by your grandparents, go and see this play. If you simply love theatre, go and see this play.” And adds her thoughts on the meaning of the play: “Connection, communication and companionship...it's what makes life bearable.”

Newtown, PA: The Langhorne Players proudly presents its upcoming show, 4000 MILES by Amy Herzog for 11 performances from Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 22. It will be held at The Spring Garden Mill Theater in Tyler State Park, on Route 332, 1440 Newtown- Richboro Rd., Newtown, PA, 18940. Some weekday performances are available (See website for details). Opening Night Wine and Cheese follows the performance on Friday, 6/6, and there will be a special talk-back Q&A after the show on Sunday, 6/15.
