Theatre Exile is proud to deliver three plays that will leave audiences entertained and exhilarated. Completeness by Tony Award winner Itamar Moses has been called "Fearless ... and frequently funny." The Guardian said seeing An Oak Tree by Tim Crouch is "...like watching your own heart being mugged." The New York Times called Among the Dead by Hansol Jung "smart and stinging." The plays with their innovative storytelling will enliven the stage and the lobby after the show.

Theatre Exile kicks off the season with Completeness by Tony and Obie Award-winning playwright Itamar Moses. Running November 29 through December 23, 2018 (Opening Night December 5, 2018) at The Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake (302 South Hicks Street).

Elliot builds a computer program to help Molly with her research project, and the variables in their evolving relationship shift as rapidly as the terms of their experiment. This incredibly seductive and ridiculously intelligent comedy by Itamar Moses explores the chemistry between smart, damaged people and what happens when they lose control of the science. Associate Artistic Director Matt Pfeiffer will direct, with Barrymore Award-winning actors James Ijames playing the role of Elliot and Mary Tuomanen playing the role of Molly.

Following Completeness, Theatre Exile creates an experience like none other in the company's history with the Philadelphia premiere of Obie award-winning An Oak Tree by Tim Crouch from February 14 to March 10, 2019 (Opening Night February 20, 2019) at Christ Church Neighborhood House (20 N. American Street).

A parent loses their daughter to a car accident. Now nothing is what it is. It's like they're in a play - but they don't know the words. Theatre Exile favorite and Barrymore Award-winningPearce Bunting is joined by a different actor each night, who walks on stage having neither seen nor read a word of the play they're in... until they're in it. An Oak Tree is a bold and absurdly comic play about loss, suggestion, and the power of the mind. A breath-taking projection of a performance - from a hypnotist to their subject and from one actor to another. Directed by Founding Artistic Director Joe Canuso.

Theatre Exile takes you across the world ending the season with the Philadelphia Premiere of Among the Dead by Whiting Award and Helen Merrill Award-winning playwright Hansol Jung, from May 2 to May 26, 2019 (Opening Night May 8, 2019) at Christ Church Neighborhood House (20 N. American Street).

Ana is a Korean American who travels to Seoul in 1975 to retrieve her recently deceased father's ashes. Luke is a young American soldier fighting in the jungles of Myanmar in 1944. Number Four is a Korean comfort woman camping out on a bridge in Seoul in 1950, waiting for the return of the young American soldier who fathered her daughter. Three separate time periods collide in a small hotel room in Korea, mediated by a shape-shifting Jesus. Among the Dead is a dark comedy about a family broken apart by betrayed promises, and finding each other again through SPAM, journals, and Jesus. Mostly Jesus. Theatre Exile's Producing Artistic Director Deborah Block will direct, with Barrymore Award-winning actorBi Jean Ngo playing Ana, James Kern playing Luke and Claris Park playing Number Four.

For the past 21 years Theatre Exile has been exploring the complexities of the human condition. We have been choosing stories that are provocative and contain a sense of Philadelphia grit and passion. And as Exile enters this new season, we continue on our adventurous journey of expanding the voices that are exploring our mission.
