The Actors’ NET of Bucks County Opens THE MAN WHO BOUGHT A COUNTRY Tonight, 8/17

By:

The Actors' NET of Bucks County celebrates "A Revolutionary Weekend" in the Borough of Morrisville with an encore production of Joe Doyle's epic musical The Man Who Bought a Country, chronicling the life and times of Founding Father Robert Morris, for whom the borough was named.

The Morrisville Business Association (MBA) is sponsoring the production as a highlight of its Aug. 23 – 26 celebration, which features both the show and tours of area historical sights. Doyle's production (he wrote the book, music and lyrics) details how Morris was a key player in the American Revolution and features his interactions with such luminaries as General Washington, John Adams, Ben Franklin, Lafayette and many others. It also tells of his passionate marriage to Mary "Molly" Morris, who stood by her man in good times and bad. NET Artistic Director Cheryl Doyle directs Steve Lobis of Morrisville as "Robert Morris," Kyla Mostello Donnelly as "Mary Morris," Tom Orr of Ewing, NJ as "General Washington," Nicholas Pecht of Hamilton, NJ as "Benjamin Franklin," James Petro of Hamilton, NJ as "Lafayette," Joe Doyle of Morrisville as "John Adams" and many more! Stage managed by Kitty Reynolds Landes of Doylestown. Lighting design by Andrena Wishnie of Morrisville. Set design and costumes by Cheryl Doyle. Musical direction by Matt South of Levittown. Musical arrangements by James Barto of Morrisville. Produced by special arrangement with the playwright.
