State Theatre's Freddy Awards Launches Moblie Giving Campaign
By: Nicole Rosky
The State Theatre Center for the Arts announces a brand new mobile giving campaign to benefit the FREDDY© Awards program, which recognizes and rewards outstanding achievement in our regions' high school musical programs.
Anyone with a cell phone can now send a $5 donation to the FREDDY© Awards by texting FREDDY to 20222. Donors can give up to $30 per month, depending on the carrier, donations are tax deductible, and pledges are billed through their monthly cell phone bill. Messaging and data rates may apply. "We are thrilled that supporting a cause like the FREDDY's can be made so simple as a text message," says Shelley Brown, creator and executive producer of the FREDDY© Awards." "The FREDDY© program, which has become so important to the high school students in our community, desperately needs financial support. This is such an easy way to help." The State Theatre FREDDY© Award's text giving program is certified by the Mobile Giving Foundation and is administered through Give by Cell.
