"Does Your House Have Lions?"
Temple University professor Sonia Sanchez' 1998 epic poem about her brother, his alienation from his family, struggle with HIV and the family's eventual healing is being performed as a large-scale collaboration by the Colleges of Dance, Music and Theater Arts at the University of the Arts.

Re-imagined by composer Evan Solot, chair of the university's Composition department, "Lions" features direction by associate professor of Theater Arts Johnnie Hobbs Jr., musical direction by School of Music Associate Professor Jeff Kern, and choreography by Dance faculty members Silvana Cardell and Zane Booker.

"Lions" includes pop and jazz vocal soloists, chorus, big band, transfusion, bucket drums and African drums, dancers and actors. Tickets are $10/general admission, $5 students and seniors. April 17 and 18, 7 p.m., April 19, 2 p.m. Merriam Theater (250 S. Broad St.).
