Photo Flash: Civic Theatre's [title of show] Opens Tonight

By:

Civic Theatre continues its 2014-2015 main stage season with the Lehigh Valley premiere of the hilarious, meta-theatrical 2004 musical, "[title of show]" tonight, February 13 with performances through Sunday, March 1. Civic's Artistic Director William Sanders directs. Jason Sizemore serves as assistant director. Justin Brehm serves as musical director. All performances will be held at Civic's historic Nineteenth Street Theatre at 527 N. 19th Street in Allentown. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

An irreverent yet intelligent musical that takes its plot from its own creation, "[title of show]" traces the creative process of Jeff and Hunter-who mirror the show's composer/lyricist and author, respectively-who are aided by their two actress friends, Heidi and Susan, as they write the show in time to enter it in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, where it premiered in 2004. The audience is treated to an inside look at the creative process as Jeff and Hunter seek out inspiration, struggle with doubts and insecurities, and ultimately accept their creation as it is: often off-beat, sometimes R-rated, but with an undercurrent of optimism.

The musical will feature live onstage music under the musical direction of Justin Brehm with musical staging by Wiliam Sanders. Will Morris serves as technical director. Set design is by Marilyn Loose, and sound design is by Helena Confer. Wig and hair design is by Kim Danish. Emily Heller is production stage manager, and Gabrielle Rhoads is Assistant Stage Manager.

The cast features Connor Harrison as Jeff, William Morris as Hunter, Mae Cutrona as Susan, and Kate Pistrone as Heidi.

Ticket prices range from $20-$31. Special discounted tickets are available for performances on opening weekend. Call the box office (610-432-8943) or visit www.CivicTheatre.com for more information. All shows will be produced at Civic's historic 19th Street Theatre, 527 N. 19th Street, Allentown, PA.
