Philadelphia Theatre Company today announced the election of Salvatore J. Patti and Kristen Phillips to the Board of Directors.

“We welcome Kristen and Sal to our Board.  In these days of such economic uncertainty, we look forward to the wisdom their financial expertise will offer us,” said Priscilla M. Luce, President of PTC’s Board of Directors.  

Kristen Phillips, a resident of Philadelphia, is Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for the Insurance and Retirement Solutions businesses of Lincoln Financial Group, responsible for leading communications, consumer research, and strategy for the individual life insurance, annuities, and group benefits lines of business.  Before her current role, Phillips was the President and CEO of the Hartford  Symphony Orchestra, where she was responsible for leading all operational and administrative aspects of the organization.  Phillips received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, Magna Cum Laude, from Texas A&M University and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Also residing in Philadelphia, Salvatore J. Patti is Senior Vice President and Market Manager for the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey Commercial Banking Group.  Patti has also been the recipient of numerous PNC awards, including a four-time recipient of PNC’s Laurel Society Award, which recognizes top sales professionals and Managers within the Commercial Banking Group. In 2009 he received the Gallup Great Workplace Award, for his Excellence in Leadership and Employee Engagement, and in 2010, he was honored by the National Italian American PAC with a Special Achievement Award in Business.  In addition to his substantial business success, Patti has committed himself to a life of service to the community and currently holds executive board positions on The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC),  The Philadelphia Police Athletic League (PAL), The Philadelphia Annual Welfare Society (PAWS), The Haim Solomon Society, The Italian American Chamber of Commerce, The National Italian American Political Action Committee, St. Monica Roman Catholic Church’s Finance Counsel, and Treasurer of The Union League of Philadelphia.

Founded in 1974, Philadelphia Theatre Company is a leading regional theater company whose mission is to produce, develop and present entertaining and imaginative contemporary theater focused on the American experience that both ignites the intellect and touches the soul.  By developing new work through commissions, readings and workshops PTC generates projects that have a national impact and reach broad regional audiences.  Under the leadership of Sara Garonzik as PTC’s Producing Artistic Director since 1982, PTC supports the work of a growing body of diverse dramatists and takes pride in being a home to scores of nationally recognized artists who have participated in more than 140 world and Philadelphia premieres.  PTC has received 45 Barrymore Awards and 155 nominations.  Shira Beckerman was recently hired as PTC’s Managing Director after a six-month national search.  Beckerman’s most recent position was Managing Director at The Pearl Theatre Company Off-Broadway. In October 2007, PTC moved into a home of its own, the Suzanne Roberts Theatre on Center City Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts, solidifying the Company’s status as a major player on the American theater scene.
