Philadelphia Orchestra Association, AFM Local 77 Reach Tentative Agreement
The Philadelphia Orchestra Association and representatives of the American Federation of Musicians Local 77 have reached a tentative agreement on principal economic terms, subject to ratification by the Musicians, approval by the Board of Directors for the Orchestra and approval by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Specific details related to this agreement must remain sealed and confidential within the bankruptcy court until voted on by the Musicians of The Philadelphia Orchestra and approved by the Philadelphia Orchestra Association Board of Directors. Both parties expect to be able to present the compromise to their constituencies for consideration, early next week.The parties were able to reach a tentative agreement through the efforts of bankruptcy court Chief Judge Stephen Raslavich. We are grateful to him for his extensive work throughout this process.Opening Night will be on October 13 and the opening of the 2011-12 Orchestra season.
