Media Arts Council Reveals Annual Honorees

It is awards season for the Media Arts Council. The Arts Awards-Icons of Media are given annually to outstanding artists and patrons of arts. This year the awards go to:
- Bryan Messick on behalf of the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union as a Patron of the Arts for their continued support of MAC and 2nd Saturday.- Claire Brill, Artist Award, for her achievement as a public artist and the mosaic mural "Handle With Care" the first public art in Media.
- Bok Read, Artist Award, for his excellence as a wood sculptor and for the 28 foot high Eiffel Tower Sculpture seen at Bastille Day this summer. The Arts Awards Icons of Media will be honored at party on Friday, October 11, 6 to 9 PM at The Schlenker Building, 609 W. State Street. There will be a preview of the Media ICONS Photography Exhibit, live music and delicious refreshments. Tickets available online and at the door are $25. This annual fundraiser for the Media Arts Council supports free community programming throughout the year.
