Gettysburg Stage Holds Auditions for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, 10/24-26

Gettysburg Stage is seeking 14 talented actors to audition for roles in its December production. The actors will be playing a total of 63 roles in the non-profit theatre company's stage production of "It's a Wonderful Life."
 
The play is based on the 1946 film of the same name, which featured Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore. Performances will take place on the weekends of December 11, 12 and 18, 19 in Gettysburg and two additional locations.
 
"What makes this Gettysburg Stage version of the production unique," says the show's director, David Hurlbert, "is that it will be done as a radio play, on stage. In the heyday of radio drama, actors used their voices to create memorable characters, while music and sound effects helped to build suspense and sharpen the action."
 
Auditions are scheduled for Sunday, October 24 and Monday, October 25 from  7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 East High Street, Gettysburg. A third audition is scheduled for the New Oxford Borough Building, 124 North Peters Street,  on Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
 
There is no need to prepare a presentation or monologue. Persons who wish to audition may range in age from pre-teen to senior citizens. They will be given scripts to read and roles to perform. Newcomers are welcome and experience is not required.
