By:
Barrage is back...with a twist! The high-octane fiddle fest has expanded their sonic palette to include the entire string instrument family for the new spectacular show Barrage 8, live at the State Theatre on Friday, April 29th.

Show time is 7:30 PM. Tickets are $40 can be purchased by visiting the State Theatre Box Office, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610-252-3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org. Sponsored by Strahman Valves, WDIY 88.1 FM and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

Barrage was a violin-based, modern-world beat ensemble based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The group employed a blend of eclectic violin music with high-energy physical choreography during their performances. Between 1996 and 2012, Barrage gave over 3000 performance in 27 countries. Its contemporary string arrangements of music both familiar and new, was presented to millions of people around the globe through its successful TV shows, DVD's, audio recordings and invigorating stage shows. In November 2015, the producers of Barrage launched a new project called "Barrage 8", a string octet that is loosely based on the original Barrage concept.

The "8" in the name represents a re-imagining of the string octet: 5 violins, viola, cello and double bass. This instrumentation drives a rich and powerful sonic palette that further explores the musical diversity in the Barrage 8 compositions and arrangements. Barrage 8 presents what the Barrage name has come to represent worldwide: "a memorable presentation of music, from many genres and cascading generations, delivered in a way not seen or heard before."

With music that combines contemporary world influences, layered vocal arrangements and pulsating beats, it's "too WOW for words!"
