Act II Playhouse to Present MORE BROADWAY ON BUTLER, 8/7-17
Act II Playhouse in Ambler continues its summer of entertainment with More Broadway on Butler, a lively musical review featuring numbers from many popular Broadway shows. The production runs Thursdays-Sundays, Aug. 7-17.
"More Broadway on Butler is a little Chorus Line, a little Annie Get Your Gun, a little Kiss Me Kate, and a little Gypsy, just to name a few," director and performer Sonny Leo said. "The timeless tunes and dances of these classic musicals will give the audience an evening of theater that will leave them tapping their toes and humming along."
More Broadway on Butler dramatizes the trials and tribulations of what it requires to be in show business. "All performers have a story to tell both individually and collectively. More Broadway on Butler will bring the audience on that journey," Leo said. "We will share our triumphs and heartaches, all told through the songs and dances of our favorite musicals."
Tickets for More Broadway on Butler are $25 for adults, with discounts available for subscribers, students and seniors 65+. Tickets are available by calling the Act II Box Office at (215) 654-0200, in person at 56 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler, or online at http://www.act2.org.
The show is a follow-up to last summer's highly successful production, Broadway on Butler, also directed by and starring Leo. The performers sharing the stage with him this summer are Joseph Binck, Megan Schmidt, and Gianna Yanelli.
"There is something for everyone in More Broadway on Butler," Leo said. "From the jazzy feel of Bob Fosse's Chicago to the tapping hot footwork of Singing in the Rain, we guarantee a wonderful evening (or afternoon) of true showbiz entertainment."
