Don’t miss the world premiere of Tivoli Lovely, a bold new musical comedy by Eddie Perfect (Beetlejuice, Strictly Ballroom: The Musical), brought to life by WAAPA’s 2nd and 3rd Year Music Theatre and Music students.

When a sharp-tongued 85-year-old ex-chorus girl is paired with a struggling teen for a school project, a forgotten chapter of Australia’s theatrical history springs to life—the dazzling world of the 1954 Tivoli circuit and the rise (and fall) of a tap-dancing boy band, The Eleven Kevins.

Commissioned by WAAPA with Principal Partner Minderoo Foundation, Tivoli Lovely is a hilarious and heartfelt black comedy that celebrates Australia’s rich variety tradition through music, dance, and cheeky showbiz satire.

Developed over three years with WAAPA’s graduating Music Theatre class of 2025, and helmed by award-winning director Dean Bryant (Dear Evan Hansen, My Brilliant Career The Musical) with music direction by Zara Stanton (Fangirls), this vibrant new work marks Eddie Perfect’s first major Australian musical since Shane Warne The Musical.
