Honeymoon in Vegas, the eagerly anticipated new musical with book by Blazing Saddles and Fletchwriter Andrew Bergman and score by Jason Robert Brown will begin previews tomorrow, November 18, 2014 at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street). The production is directed by Gary Griffin, and choreographed by Denis Jones. The new musical just got some major support from SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE funny man Bobby Moynihan, who was sporting a show t-shirt at the end of this week's episode. Check it out below!

The Covenant House just held the Second Annual Sleep Out: Broadway Edition last night, August 17, 2014, where members of the Broadway community spent the night sleeping on the streets outside the Covenant House to raise much needed funds for homeless youth. Happy Birthday Claude-Michel Schonberg! Schonberg is best known for his collaborations with the lyricist Alain Boublil. Thier stage musical version of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, which opened at the Palais de Sports in Paris in 1980, opened to acclaim in London in 1985 and on Broadway in 1987. In 1989, their success continued with the musical Miss Saigon, which starred Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce. Schonberg's next project with Boublil was The Pirate Queen, a musical about the 16th century Irish pirate, chieftain and adventuress Grace O'Malley, which opened on Broadway on April 5 2007.

It's been announced, predicted and rumored and now it appears to be near official that Jason Robert Brown's Honeymoon in Vegas will be coming to Broadway this Fall. In a New York Times report on the closing of AFTER MIDNIGHT at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, they note that next up is said to be Honeymoon in Vegas, though dates are not yet confirmed.

Vulture.com welcomed actress Stephanie J. Block and composer Jason Robert Brown for 'The Art of Songwriting' at the first Vulture Festival, a weekend of pop culture events in New York City on May 10 and 11. During the event, Brown spoke to New York magazine theater critic Jesse Green about composing for musicals and played and sang some of his tunes with additional vocal accompaniment by Block. Today in 2007, The Pirate Queen opened at the Hilton Theatre (now the FoxwoodsTheatre), where it ran for 85 performances. The Pirate Queen is a musical written by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, best known for their adaptation of Les Miserables. It is based on the life and adventures of the 16th century Irish chieftain and pirate Grainne O'Malley, who was one of the last Irish clan leaders to resist the English conquest of Gaelic Ireland. The cast featured Stephanie J. Block as the title character and Linda Balgord, who was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I.
