TV Exclusive: Watch Harvey Schmidt & Tom Jones on Stage Together One Last Time

As magical as the evening was, after Freddie Gershon gave an impassioned presentation to the duo, Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones hit the stage and brought the house down at ages 88 and 89 respectively. They joined forces onstage to perform a song from their musical The Bone Room, described by Jones as being about 'the pleasures of dying and being embalmed in this great country of ours.' Below, watch as they perform together for the last time. BWW feels privileged to share with you a bit of highlights of these two legends together before a rapt and ecstatic audience who precded to shower them with a (well deserved) standing ovation... RIP Harvey Schmidt.

VIDEO: Stephen Schwartz and Jeanine Tesori Talk Storytelling Through Song for DGF's 'The Legacy Project'

The announcement of today's Tony Award nominations marks this as a week for celebration and reaffirms the commitment of organizations that protect the survival of the arts. For those organizations, like the Dramatists Guild Fund (DGF), that commitment likely means shouldering a larger burden of funding and support. Today's celebration also coincides with the launch of the latest installment of 'The Legacy Project: Volume III' from DGF, featuring one of Broadway's best known and loved composers/lyricists, Stephen Schwartz, chatting with Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home) about storytelling through song. TV: Broadway Composers Unite in Dramatists Guild's Fight Against Piracy!

The Dramatists Guild's Anti-Piracy Committee just hosted their first-ever Anti-Piracy awareness event on Monday, April 21. During the event, established and up-and-coming musical theatre writers paired up to reach out to known sheet music pirates and ask them to take down the links to their sheet music. The day is intended to raise awareness about the problem of sheet music piracy and take steps against the digital distribution of stolen sheet music. BroadwayWorld goes inside the event and brings you interviews with the composers below!
