This week, the beloved Jason Robert Brown musical The Bridges of Madison County celebrates the fifth anniversary of its Broadway opening at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre! The critically-acclaimed musical comedy THE OTHER JOSH COHEN opens Off-Broadway tonight, Monday November 12, at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street). The musical - nominated for six Drama Desk Awards and the Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical upon its world premiere in 2012 - features Book, Music and Lyrics by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen, who co-star in the title roles, under the direction of Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster. Joining Rosen and Rossmer in the cast are Drama Desk nominee Kate Wetherhead (Legally Blonde), Hannah Elless(Bright Star), Elizabeth Nestlerode (Once Tour), Luke Darnell (Million Dollar Quartet Vegas) and Louis Tucci (Buddy);Zach Spound (Cruel Intentions: The Musical) will serve as swing. Previews began Friday, October 26, 2018, for the show's limited engagement of seventeen weeks through February 24, 2019.

A family classic has been given a fresh twist in Connecticut's own A Connecticut Christmas Carol by LJ Fecho and Michael O'Flaherty. Goodspeed Musicals continues its commitment to fresh, innovative works with this new musical infused with Connecticut flavor. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director), recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony® Award, has announced casting for the smash hit musical Million Dollar Quartet with book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, original concept by Mr. Mutrux, inspired by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. Directed by Tony® Award nominee Hunter Foster and with music direction by James Barry, the 8-member ensemble will feature James Barry as Carl Perkins, Alex Boniello as Elvis Presley, Jason Loughlin as Sam Phillips, Scott Moreau as Johnny Cash, David Sonneborn as Fluke, Bligh Voth as Dyanne, Sam Weber as Brother Jay, and Nat Zegree as Jerry Lee Lewis. 

In their primes, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins could burn the house down at will. They weren't so much musicians as they were forces of nature, with talent and bravado that turned popular music upside down.

Bucks County Playhouse's second production of the summer season, the high-energy Rock & Roll musical 'Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story' directed by Tony nominee Hunter Foster with choreography by Lorin Latarro. This show been seen by over 22 million people worldwide, and is hailed as the most successful rock musical of all time. 'Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story' opened at Bucks County Playhouse (70 S. Happy Birthday, Hunter Foster! Foster is perhaps best known for playing 'Bobby Strong' in Urinetown, for which he received nominations for an Outer Critics Circle Award and a Lucille Lortel Award. In 2003, Foster starred as 'Seymour' in the Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors, for which he received his first Tony Award nomination. Foster also appeared as 'Leo Bloom' in The Producers on Broadway, 'Ensign Pulver' in Mister Roberts at the Kennedy Center, 'Ben' in Modern Orthodox off-Broadway, and 'Sam Phillips' in Million Dollar Quartet.

North Carolina Theatre, the region's premiere nonprofit professional regional theatre producing Broadway musical revivals, is ready to electrify audiences this February with the world's favorite musical, Grease! The cast of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY wraps up rehearsals and heads to Bucks County Playhouse this week!

Today in 2003, Little Shop of Horrors opened at the Virginia Theatre (now the August Wilson Theatre), where it ran for 372 performances. Little Shop of Horrors is a comedy horror rock musical, by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman. The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, 'Skid Row (Downtown)', 'Somewhere That's Green', and 'Suddenly, Seymour'.

The Ogunquit Playhouse is the first regional theatre in the country to produce the Tony Award-winning musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, onstage now through September 19, 2015. BroadwayWorld has highlights from the show below!
