On Friday night, February 17th, cast members from JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR performed a special secret fan preview concert for a few very lucky fans of the show. The concert featured some of the show's most notable hit songs, performed at the very appropriate venue of 'The Crypt' at The Church of the Intercession on 155th Street and Broadway in New York City. JERSEY BOYS Broadway stars Matt Bogart, Andy Karl, Jarrod Spector, Quinn VanAntwerp recently performed on 'Imus In The Morning' on the Fox Business News. The performance opens with Jarrod Spector (as Frankie Valli)singing 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You,' then the other three stars join him to sing a wonderful medley, including 'Who Loves You?' and the show-stopper, 'Oh What a Night.'

Today in 1970, JESUS CHRIST SUERSTAR creators Andrew Lloyd Webber and Time Rice received gold records for the original cast album of the show. The musical started off as a rock opera concept recording before its first staging on Broadway in 1971. The musical is based very loosely on the Gospels' account of the last week of Jesus' life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem, and ending with the crucifixion. It highlights political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus, struggles that are not in the Bible. The resurrection is not included. It therefore largely follows the form of a traditional passion play.

Jersey Boys just concuded its run in Sydney on December 8, and you can go inside the final performance in the video below! JERSEY BOYS is written by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and is directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.

The musical JERSEY BOYS is currently playing a return engagement at The National Theatre through January 7, 2012. The premiere engagement of JERSEY BOYS in Washington, D.C., was an overwhelming success, seen by more than 130,000 theatergoers, breaking The National Theatre's box office record previously held by Monty Python's Spamalot, and going on to break its own record three more times.

In London, the cast of JERSEY BOYS is led by Ryan Molloy as Frankie Valli, Matthew Wycliffe as Bob Gaudio, Jon Boydon as Tommy DeVito and Eugene McCoy as Nick Massi. Jon Lee plays the role of Frankie Valli at certain performances.
