Today we're wishing a happy birthday to Tony nominee Christopher Fitzgerald.

As she prepares the host the Tony Awards tomorrow evening, Sara Bareilles received a huge surprise from the Broadway and touring casts of Waitress. Broadway cast member Christopher Fitzgerald delivered a care package to Bareilles' dressing room at Radio City, where she unpacked goodies handpicked by the casts. Watch the video below!

For the first two weeks of her return engagement, the multiplatinum-selling singer-songwriter and New York Times bestselling author will play the titular pie-maker opposite Jason Mraz as Dr. Pomatter.

On this day in 1999, Richard Chamberlain and Laura Benanti joined the cast of the Broadway revival of The Sound of Music as the new Captain Von Trapp and Maria Rainer, succeeding Michael Siberry and Rebecca Luker in the roles. The two continued in the roles through the production's closing on June 20. 1999, after 533 performances.
