Just last night, SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky hosted and music directed Not Since High School, a benefit concert that showcased Broadway performers singing the classic roles they played as teens while wearing braces and/or breaking out. Performers included Sierra Boggess, Mario Cantone, Jerry Dixon, Christine Ebersole, James Monroe Iglehart, LaChanze, Jose Llana, Jessie Mueller, Julia Murney, Emily Skinner, Keala Settle, and more. Today in 1980, the first Broadway revival of Camelot opened at the New York State Theatre, where it ran for 56 performances. Camelot is a musical by Alan Jay Lerner (book and lyrics) and Frederick Loewe (music). It is based on the King Arthur legend as adapted from the T. H. White tetralogy novel The Once and Future King. The original 1960 production, directed by Moss Hart and orchestrated by Robert Russell Bennett and Philip J. Lang, ran on Broadway for 873 performances, winning four Tony Awards and spawning several revivals, foreign productions and a 1967 film version. The 1980 cast starred Richard Burton, Christine Ebersole, and Richard Muenz.

The evening was a concert of love and healing for the Newtown community from the composers, musicians and more than 100 stars of Broadway together with over 100 students from several Newtown dance groups and the Newtown High School Chamber Choir. All proceeds and donations go directly to United Way of Western Connecticut's Sandy Hook School Support Fund.

For over twenty-five years, the late Bradshaw Smith (Founder & Executive Producer of "Broadway Beat" and Applause Video) was the theater world's preeminent videographer, capturing over 1,000 performances on Broadway, off-Broadway, in cabaret halls and beyond that now, because of him, live on today. Bradshaw Smith died on January 16, 2012, at age 57, following a sudden and severe stroke. To conclude the intimate memorial, Bradshaw's longtime friend and editor, Jonathan Frank, compiled the best of Bradshaw's work as a video artist.
