The Broadway-bound musical is about what happens when a group of forgotten celebrities lend their support to a lesbian couple wanting to attend their prom.

The ALLIANCE THEATRE began rehearsals this week for The Prom, the hilarious new musical that will have its pre-Broadway World Premiere in Atlanta, August 18 - September 25, 2016.  Director Casey Nicholaw talks about the show in the video below!

EVITA, one of the most passionate and powerful rock operas in Broadway history, will be presented at The Marriott Theatre (10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire), previewing April 13, opening April 20 and running through June 5. The winner of seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical masterpiece with lyrics by Tim Rice will be directed and choreographed by Jeff Award-nominee Alex Sanchez(Choreography for On the Town and Mary Poppins at The Marriott Theatre; Follies at Chicago Shakespeare Theater) with musical direction by Ryan T. Nelson.

TUCK EVERLASTING, the new musical based on Natalie Babbitt's beloved best-selling novel of the same name, is currently in previews at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). With direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (Something Rotten!, Aladdin, The Book of Mormon), Tuck Everlasting will officially open on Broadway on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner are performing together in NYC for the first time in nearly nine years.  The duo received a Tony Award co-nomination for their role(s) as the conjoined twins, Daisy and Violet Hilton, in the original Broadway production of Side Show; separately, Alice and Emily have starred in numerous other Broadway shows including The Full Monty, Next To Normal, Billy Elliot, The Rocky Horror Show, and many more. Additional performances will take place February 4-6 (7PM) and February 6 (9:30PM) at Feinstein's/54 Below. The Alliance Theatre's production of A STEADY RAIN, a contemporary crime drama by writer and producer Keith Huff(Mad Men, American Crime), is directed by Steppenwolf Theatre co-founder Jeff Perry (who currently plays White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene on ABC's SCANDAL). On August 1, 2015 the full 2-hour documentary CROSSING THE LINE TO BROADWAY premiered worldwide, chronicling the epic journey of the 2013 Tony Award Nominated musical BRING IT ON!, featuring book by Jeff Whitty, music by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt, lyrics by Amanda Green and Lin-Manuel Miranda, and music arrangements by Alex Lacamoire and Tom Kitt. Previews begin tomorrow night, Saturday, March 8, for the return to Broadway of Tony Award-winner and two-time Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington, starring as Walter Lee Younger in Lorraine Hansberry's A RAISIN IN THE SUN. This new production begins previews nearly 55 years to the day that A RAISIN IN THE SUN had its Broadway premiere (March 11, 1959) at the same theatre, the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street).
