The Nash, West Valley Arts and Ottowa University AZ have joined forces to present the Pascal Bokar Afro Blue Grazz Band for two shows.

The Groner Group, a marketing and strategic consulting firm announced today that it is changing its name to “MICHELE GRONER x BRAND NEXUS”. The name change reflects the company’s evolution over the last several years, both in terms of the clients they serve and the changing needs of their existing client base. Along with this name change, a new website and logo have been revealed at brand-nexus.com.

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre will present a special virtual event: NuWorks 2021, the annual experimental series of self-created work from innovative artists exploring an eclectic range of genres and techniques using poetry, text, dance and music.

If, like me, you’re not all that familiar with art songs by Black composers, Candace Johnson is here to show you what you’ve been missing out on. On May 22nd and 23rd, the acclaimed soprano and actress will perform her new show Music to My Ears - Hearing Adolphus Hailstork to kick off The Marsh’s new solo performance musical series The Art Songs of Black Composers on its digital platform MarshStream. Dr. Johnson will be joined by San Francisco Symphony pianist Marc Shapiro to shine a light on celebrated modern composer Hailstork’s song cycle Ventriloquist Acts of God, blending singing with theatrical storytelling to depict a university professor and her students discussing how to hear the music – and each other – in a whole new way. Immediately following the performance, Johnson and Shapiro will be joined by The Marsh Founder/Artistic Director Stephanie Weisman for a Q&A. Music to My Ears - Hearing Adolphus Hailstork will be streamed at 7:30pm PDT on Saturday, May 22 and 5:00pm PDT on Sunday, May 23. Prior to those performances, Johnson and Dr. Adolphus Hailstork will appear on Stephanie’s MarshStream at 7:30pm PDT on Thursday, May 20 to discuss his work. The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment has announced the addition of a fourth New York Music Month Extended Play event category – Youth Programming. This new category joins Resources for Musicians, NYMM Talks and Performances + Workshops. 

Osiris will also add rock music critic and podcaster Steven Hyden as Consulting Producer. Steven’s background hosting successful music podcasts and writing about music for decades will help push the company’s writing and strategic direction forward.
