Co-chaired by Benita and Lewis Smoot Jr., the CAPA Gala Celebration is the performing arts non-profit organization's annual fundraising event that provides critical resources to continue its educational initiatives, cultural programming, and community engagement activities and events. In 2022, the sold-out event will honor Donna and Larry James for their extraordinary leadership and many contributions to the arts community of central Ohio.

Following its Broadway breakout in 2021, Chicken & Biscuits is now part of the Broadway Licensing collection for professional and amateur theaters. The original production premiered at the Queens Theatre in the Park in February 2020 before transferring to Broadway’s Circle in the Square Theater in the fall of 2021.

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Grove at Goodspeed Musicals will return to the Goodspeed campus January 31 - February 27, 2022 after being virtual in 2021.

The festival, which was originally scheduled to run January 17-February 6, 2022 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery), features World Premiere 10-minute plays by early career and under-represented playwrights from the African diaspora. Information on the new performance dates will be announced in the coming months. 

Lucille Lortel Theatre has announced the first guests of 2022 for its “Live at The Lortel” podcast series. Now in its third season, “Live at The Lortel” is hosted by Eric Ostrow and co-hosts Joy DeMichelle and John-Andrew Morrison.

FRIGID New York will present the 13th Annual The Fire This Time Festival at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery), January 17-February 6, 2022. Performances will also be available to livestream from home.

The Public Theater announced the full line-up today for the 18th annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 12-30, 2022. The innovative festival of The Public’s winter season returns to in-person performances at The Public Theater and partner venues Mabou Mines and PS21 with work by artists from across the U.S. and around the world.

The Broadway Advocacy Coalition (BAC) and Columbia Law School will continue their four-year partnership with the announcement of an in-person participatory course entitled The Theater for Change: Reimagining Justice Through Abolition. 

Producers of the Broadway play Chicken & Biscuits announced that the production will resume performances on Friday, November 19, 2021, before playing a final performance of its limited engagement at Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street) on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
