This March, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra will embark upon its first trip to the United States in more than 35 years.  The RSNO, together with Music Director Peter Oundjian and violinist Nicola Benedetti will perform throughout the state of Florida with stops in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Vero Beach, Gainesville, Fort Myers, Sarasota and Daytona Beach.

Ann Hampton Callaway one of the leading champions of the great American Songbook, plays an exclusive one night only date Today February 10 at the Palace Theater's intimate Poli Club. Part of New England Arts & Entertainment's Winter Jazz Series, Hampton Callaway will perform two shows that evening at 7:00 and 9:00 pm.

The Public Theater and The New Yorker announced today that a new series, PUBLIC FORUM: A WELL-ORDERED NATION, has been added to the 2017 Spring Public Forum line-up.

The overall assumption regarding an interest in the arts seems to be one of partisan politics. Its value is an often debated topic in a divided nation whose idealistic chasm grows wider by the day. For many, the fate of the arts remains a concern of those confined to what conservatives label a 'coastal bubble.' A fringe frivolity to be cast aside in favor of funding more 'practical' ventures.

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) today announced details for its 2017 regional programs, including a new long-term institutional partnership with the Center for the Art of Performance at University of California Los Angeles (CAP UCLA) that represents YoungArts' deepening roots in the area, and further expands the organization's resources and reach on the West Coast.

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts continues its 2016-17 Jazz series with the Marcus Roberts Trio - featuring Marcus Roberts, piano; Rodney Jordan, bass; and Jason Marsalis, drums - on Today, February 4, 2017, 8:00 p.m. at the Miller Theatre (2960 Broadway at 116th Street). 

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) presents Noche Flamenca'sAntigona, their critically-acclaimed work fusing flamenco and Greek tragedy, March 12 at 7pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. Adapted from Sophocles' Antigone, and starring Bessie-award winner Soledad Barrio as the lead, Antigona looks at repression, heroism and loss in a fiery, multi-media spectacle.

As part of the school's Master Artist Series in celebration of its 30th anniversary, more than 590 student artists in grades seven through 12 will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop with one of the most important voices of theatre today.

 Named one of the hottest bands of SXSW 2013, Black Violin brings their rich blend of classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B, and bluegrass to Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre at 8 p.m. on Today, February 1.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts seeks professional musicians nationwide for the formation of the Dr. Phillips Center Jazz Orchestra. Auditions will be held at the Dr. Phillips Center on February 27 and 28, 2017.
