Matilda the Musical is headed to the big screen!

Casting for Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Tony Award®-winning musical phenomenon, LES MISERABLES, has been announced for its much anticipated Sarasota engagement at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, direct from a celebrated two-and-a-half year Broadway engagement.

Broadway In Boston announced today that tickets for Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, LES MISERABLES will go on sale this Monday, January 27. Performances at the Citizens Bank Opera House June 2 - 14, 2020 as part of the 2019-2020 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season.

Apple TV Plus has announced premiere dates for a slew of its upcoming series, according to Variety.

Apple has unveiled its first British scripted original series, titled Trying. The series will star Imelda Staunton and Rafe Spall, according to Deadline. Trying is set to premiere on Friday, May 1.

HBO has confirmed their slate of captivating documentaries for the first half of 2020, including ATLANTA CHILD MURDERS (working title), a documentary series reexamining the missing and murdered children of Atlanta in the late-'70s and early-'80s in collaboration with Show of Force, Roc Nation and Get Lifted Film Co.; WELCOME TO CHECHNYA, directed by David France, chronicling a group of brave activists risking their lives to confront the ongoing anti-LGBTQ persecution in the repressive and closed Russian republic of Chechnya; NATALIE WOOD: WHAT REMAINS BEHIND, intimately exploring Natalie Wood's life, career and tragic death through the unique perspective of her daughter Natasha Gregson Wagner and others who knew her best; and McMILLION$, from executive producer Mark Wahlberg and directors James Lee Hernandez and Brian Lazarte, a six-part documentary series chronicling the stranger-than-fiction story of the mysterious McDonald's Monopoly game promotion scam and the mastermind who developed the complex scheme, stealing millions of dollars and building a vast network of co-conspirators across the U.S.

ABC today announced that the network will debut its latest live musical event this fall with “Young Frankenstein Live!” (working title), produced by the legendary director, writer, actor, comedian, producer and composer, Mel Brooks. The announcement comes on the heels of the network's most recent hit musical spectacular, “The Wonderful World of Disney presents The Little Mermaid Live!,” which marked the most-watched made-for-TV musical on any network in nearly four years and ranked as the week's No. 1 entertainment show.

Veteran producer Effie T. Brown (Dear White People, Project Greenlight, Real Women Have Curves) has been named the new CEO of Gamechanger, which launched in 2013 as the first film financing fund by and for women. Brown is broadening the fund's scope to include projects by and about people of color, LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities. Gamechanger is also expanding into television and digital content with a new, fully monetized development fund that will enable it to buy, option and develop IP for television, streaming and digital platforms.
