Shakespeare & Young Company showcase their eight weeks of intense training in two performances at The Rose Footprint. They will be presenting a 45-minute, plot-driven, re-imagining of Hamlet, with three different actors playing three different Hamlets, and Another Part of the Forest, an As You Like It/Midsummer mash-up. The Young Company features twelve young adults, aged 16-20, from across the United States.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the Broadway cast of The Winslow Boy, starring Tony nominee Michael Cumpsty as 'Desmond Curry', Academy & Tony Award nominee Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as 'Grace Winslow', Alessandro Nivola as 'Sir Robert Morton' and Tony Award winner Roger Rees as 'Arthur Winslow'.

New York Madness (NYM) is about to start its Fourth Season. With a focus on emerging writers, NYM hosts a hot night of short plays based on a theme proposed by the more established Featured Guest. The Theme is announced one week prior to the event.

Denver Center Attractions announces the 2013 nominees for The Bobby G Awards - the Colorado regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theater Awards. Fifteen public and private high schools in the seven Denver metro counties participated in the inaugural season. The awards ceremony, on May 30 at 7pm in The Seawell Grand Ballroom, includes performances from the shows nominated for outstanding overall production and honors outstanding achievements by students and educators made in the areas of performance, design, direction, choreography, technical production and overall production excellence.

Performance Network Theatre is proud to present three community discussions on Monday, May 13 at 6pm, Sunday, May 19 at 4:30pm, and Sunday, June 2 at 4:30pm regarding "The Mountaintop," by Katori Hall - the current Performance Network production that is an imagined portrayal of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s last night on earth. These discussions are open to the public to facilitate dialogue about the play's innovative take on Dr. King's final hours.

The drama fun will run from July 8 - August 2, 2013. Tuition for DLC Baltimore summer camps is $295 per week per child. For over three decades, the award-winning Gainesville Theatre Alliance (GTA), a collaboration between the recently renamed University of North Georgia and Brenau University, has been one of the premiere theatre's in Georgia. While many of GTA's shows feature guest professional actors, directors, and designers, the majority of the on and off-stage work is done by students. However, in 2012, in a collaboration with the city of Buford, they founded GTA SouthernStage, a professional resident company in the new Buford Community Center, Town Park, & Theatre. Through April 28th, GTA SouthernStage is concluding its first season with an outstanding professional production of 'Alfred Hitchock's The 39 Steps' (read BWW Atlanta's glowing review: 'You'd Be Psycho to Miss Amazing 39 STEPS at GTA's SouthernStage'), and has announced that a production of the recent Broadway hit 'Lombardi' will open their second season in their new home in August.

The production, directed by Ron Russell, begins previews Off-Broadway tonight, Tuesday, April 16th and opens Saturday, April 20th at 8:00 PM at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). The play will run through May 4th.

When I arrived in Portland two and a half years ago, the name I heard repeatedly throughout the Portland theatre community was Matthew B. Zrebski. In the time I have lived here, I have had the opportunity to not only work with Matt in several capacities, but to also call this gracious and humble man my friend. His original and haunting a capella musical thriller Ablaze is about to have its World Premiere, opening at the Brunish Theatre at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts on April 12th. Matt is one of the busiest and hardest working theatre arts in Portland, but I had the chance to sit down with him to discuss this exciting new work.

Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault announced the Theatre's 2013-2014 season will open with a new production of The Laramie Project, 15 years after the killing of Wyoming college student Matthew Shepard. The play is presented as the cornerstone production for the Ford's Theatre Society's Lincoln Legacy Project, a multi-year effort dedicated to sparking dialogue in the nation's capital around issues of social injustice and the ideals of equality for which Abraham Lincoln stood. A series of free special programs and events will be offered in connection with the play in September/October 2013.
