New Plays & Musicals Unveiled At TheatreWorks's NEW WORKS FESTIVAL

Lovers of new theatre will gather this August for an advance look at tomorrow's hits at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's 2019 New Works Festival at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. This unique festival offers audiences an extraordinary opportunity to experience new plays and musicals in their early stages of development, and hear about the creative process in a "Meet the Artists" panel discussion. With multiple performances of each work, playwrights and composers are able to revise and refine their shows during the festival, allowing audiences to view the exciting evolution of brand new pieces of theatre. The popular festival runs August 9 - 18, 2019 at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto. Festival passes ($65 general$49 season subscribers) and single event tickets ($20) can be purchased online at theatreworks.org or by calling (650) 463-1960.

DETC Announces Upcoming 2019-20 Season Which Includes ADOPTION ROULETTE and MAN AND WIFE

A4 Launches Theater Career Roundtable Event 6/25

The Asian American Arts Alliance announces the launch of a new initiative to support Asian Americans pursuing careers in the arts. Table Dish, A4's new professional development series, will bring experts in specific disciplines together with aspiring professionals in a roundtable setting to answer questions, provide advice, and create networking and mentoring opportunities.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival presents the world premiere of Susan Ferrara's Buzz, September 4 - 15, 2019. City Theatre Announces Details of MOMENTUM '19 New Plays at Different Stages

The annual Momentum Festival of New Plays at Different Stages will close the 2018-19 City Theatre season with four days of an intergenerational epic, an unconventional comedy, a chilling thriller, and a touching story of hope. Supported by The Fine Foundation, the festival runs May 30 - June 2, 2019, and is free and open to the public, though reservations are required as seating is limited. California Shakespeare Theater Opens Its 45th Season With A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

California Shakespeare Theater opens its 2019 summer season with A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, playing May 22 through June 16, 2019 at the Bruns Amphitheater in Orinda. The season launches with A Pay What You Can performance on Wednesday, May 22nd. Tickets will be available starting at 10am on the day of each show through TodayTix (todaytix.com) and the Cal Shakes Box Office (calshakes.org or 510.548.9666).

KCPublic And CSF Present HER OWN DEVICES

Kansas City Public Theatre presents Her Own Devices by Lindsay Adams in partnership with the Charlotte Street Foundation May 10, 11, 17 & 18 at 7:30 PM, and on Sunday, May 19 at 2 PM. All performances will occur at Capsule, which is located at 1664 Broadway Blvd. Admission is free to the public.

Theater J Announces Yiddish Theater Lab Readings

Theater J, the nation's largest and most prominent Jewish theater, continues its signature Yiddish Theater Lab with readings of two plays in May. The plays are The Rented Bridegroom by Rinne Groff (adapted from a play by Osip Dymov) on May 6 at Foundry Church and Yankl the Blacksmith by David Pinski on May 20 at the Goethe-Institut. Lisa Timmel Joins Bated Breath As Managing Director

Bated Breath is excited to welcome Lisa Timmel as its new Managing Director. Ms. Timmel is an experienced independent dramaturg who specializes in new play development and production. Previously, she was the director of new work at The Huntington Theatre Company in Boston where she collaborated with an impressive slate of emerging and established playwrights. Ms. Timmel has also served as director of new play development at Playwrights Horizons, interim dramaturg and advisor to the Emerging Writers Group at the Public Theater, and artistic producer at Carole Shorenstein Hayes Productions.

Obie Winner Renata Hinrichs Premieres RANDOM ACTS

Magic Window Productions will present the Off-Broadway Premiere of RANDOM ACTS, a drama written and performed by Obie Award winner Renata Hinrichs (A Simple Heart, Debbie Does Dallas, Einstein's Dreams). Directed by Jessi D. Hill, previews begin February 14 at TBG Mainstage Theatre. Opening is set for Wednesday, February 20.
