MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET - the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical and West End smash hit embarks on its first ever UK Tour, visiting Manchester Palace Theatre from 15-20 May, and the cast is revealed for the red-hot rock 'n' roll extravaganza.
Over the years, I have seen many productions of COMPANY and am pleased to tell you the current production at the Morgan-Wixson in Santa Monica is by far the best one I have ever seen thanks to the brilliant direction and fabulous casting done by Kristin Towers-Rowles, herself a triple-threat performer who could no doubt shine in any of the musical's roles herself. The entire revival is perfect in all aspects including musical direction by Daniel Koh, the glorious 70s costumes designed by Michael Mullen, the fabulous multi-level New York-inspired set designed by William Wilday, evocative, attention-focusing lighting designed by Donny Jackson, and the fun choreography by Jaime Pierce, which all combine to make this the perfect introduction to Sondheim's body of work.
Jason Donovan is cast as legendary record producer Sam Phillips, the man who brought Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carol Perkins together to create music history on one night in 1956.
On December 4, 1956, these four star musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis, the studios of producer Sam Phillips, for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever.
Surely most theatre folks have seen productions of the fabulous musical THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, making the show the 2002 season's most awarded new show on Broadway, based on the original story and screenplay by Richard Morris for the 1967 Universal Pictures film directed by George Roy Hill and starring Julie Andrews. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, the current production directed by Anne Gesling for the Y.E.S. Youth/Teen Program at Santa Monica's Morgan-Wixson Theatre is just as good as many adult production I have seen, given the cast's talent, Gesling's spot-on fast-paced direction and fabulous 1920's costuming, Daniel Koh's musical direction creating wonderful cast harmonies, and creative choreography by Lauren Blair.

In celebration of the hugely successful and critically acclaimed London run of Green Day's explosive, Tony Award® winning Broadway musical American Idiot, which must end on 22 November 2015 at the Arts Theatre, Leicester Square, a special 'Rock-A-Long' performance will be held for one night only on 12 November 2015.
CINDERELLA WALTZ investigates the archetypal origins of the world's more popular fairy tale, contrasting the familiar and charming Perrault version with the darker, more ancient and disturbing tale recorded by the brothers Grimm. Grotesque farce and romantic fantasy blend in a fairy tale for adults. Make no mistake - this is not a typical children's telling in that the script is spattered with some very adult language as we follow the fractured Cinderella fairy tale of a poor servant girl mourning the death of her mother as she dreams of a life of wealth and royalty. And listen closely to see just how many references to other whimsical tales you can catch!
Following on from its hugely successful opening in July and due to popular demand, the critically acclaimed production of Green Day's explosive award-winning Broadway musical American Idiot will be extending its run at The Arts Theatre, Leicester Square and is now booking until 22 November 2015.
