Byron Ave. Based on William Shakespeare's Macbeth and set it the Star Wars universe, MacSith is adapted by Orion Couling and Jared McDaris and directed by Couling. Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues its season and multi-year history cycle with "Henry V" by William Shakespeare. This production is directed by CSC Producing Artistic Director, Brian Isaac Phillips. This production features Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members including Justin McCombs as he returns to the stage to continue the journey of Henry V that he started as Prince Hal last season.

Today in 1982, Macbeth opened at the Circle in the Square Theatre, where it ran for 21 performances. Written by William Shakespeare, Macbeth is about a regicide and its aftermath. It is Shakespeare's shortest tragedy and is believed to have been written sometime between 1603 and 1607. The earliest account of a performance of what was probably Shakespeare's play is April 1611, when Simon Forman recorded seeing such a play at the Globe Theatre.

North Carolina Symphony Music Director Grant Llewellyn will lead the orchestra, members of UNC-Chapel Hill's Carolina Choir, and an outstanding cast of actors, directed by University of North Carolina School of the Arts Dean of Drama Carl Forsman, in a theatrical / symphonic presentation of William Shakespeare's most popular comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. The performances will take place tonight, May 7, at 7:30 p.m., in Memorial Hall on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and again on Friday and Saturday, May 8-9, at 8 p.m., in Meymandi Concert Hall in downtown Raleigh.

Due to box office demand, Theatre for a New Audience is extending its fourth production of the 2014-2015 season, Fiasco Theater's The Two Gentlemen of Verona by William Shakespeare, directed by Jessie Austrian and Ben Steinfeld, for two additional weeks through Sunday, June 7, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place. The Two Gentlemen of Verona opened on April 30.

The first half of Evening Star Productions' second season concluded on May 3rd after a sold out weekend of The Addams Family - A New Musical Comedy at Sol Theatre in Boca Raton. Their production of The Last Five Years will run at Sol from July 16 - August 2nd, and Bug by Tracy Letts will run from August 12th - 29th at Infinite Abyss in Ft. Lauderdale. And Sol Children Theatre, also housed at Sol Theatre, will present the innovative musical comedy The Mystery of Edwin Drood (June 12-28); Thumbelina (August 27 - September 6) will close out their season.

Each summer in Griffith Park, Independent Shakespeare Co. presents fully-produced large scale performances for hundreds of people on a nightly basis. Instead of the expensive dinner and a movie scenario, families flock to the park for a more neighborly picnic and a play. It's friendly, affordable (the play is free), and fun...and that's about as good as it gets on a summer night in LA.
