The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) has announced nominations for the 24th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards in theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos and animation features. Winners will be honored at the 2020 Awards at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Today's announcement was made by Art Directors Guild President Nelson Coates, ADG, and Awards Producer Scott Moses, ADG.
Syd Mead, the 'visual futurist' and concept artist known for his design contributions to science-fiction films such as Star-Trek: The Motion Picture, Aliens, and Blade Runner, has been named the recipient of the William Cameron Menzies Award from the Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) at the 24th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards. The award recognizes his innovative neo-futuristic concept artwork on numerous legendary movies. The 2020 Awards will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. The announcement was made today by ADG President Nelson Coates, ADG, and Awards Producer Scott Moses, ADG.
'Blade Runner 2049' (Dennis Gassner), 'The Shape of Water' (Paul Denham Austerberry), 'Coco' (Harley Jessup), and 'Logan' (Francois Audouy), won Best Production Design for Feature Film. Television winners included 'The Handmaid's Tale' (Julie Berghoff), 'Portlandia' (Schuyler Telleen), 'Will & Grace' (Glenda Rovella), 'Black Mirror' (Joel Collins, Phil Sims), and 'Game of Thrones' (Deborah Riley) 'Glow' (Todd Fjelsted), and 'Star Wars Battlefront II: Rivalry/PS4' (Jason Edmonds), respectively.
Anika Noni Rose will join Gary Oldman, Will Arnet and Kate Burton as presenters for the ADG AWARDS. Honorees Include Oscar -Nominated Director Kathleen Kennedy, and Disney's Oscar -Nominated Animation Filmmakers Ron Clements and John Musker.

The University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) is renowned internationally as one of the best venues for experiencing historical and contemporary world cinema. When BAMPFA opens its new downtown Berkeley building designed by Diller, Scofidio + Renfro to the public on January 31, 2016, filmgoers will be treated to more of the stellar film programming they've come to expect, as well as vastly improved facilities for experiencing and studying the moving image. In its inaugural year, BAMPFA will expand the number of film screenings it presents, hosting programs 52 weeks per year, offering more film programming for K–12 students and lifelong learners, and introducing some limited engagements of selected films. BAMPFA patrons will enjoy two state-of-the-art film theaters (232 and 33 seats, respectively), an exterior LED screen for occasional outdoor screenings, and easier accessibility to the well-appointed Film Library and Study Center, galleries, store, and cafe.

Chosen to be the closing-night gala attraction at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival, East Lynne Theater Company and The Cape May Film Society have selected it to accompany the New Jersey premiere of ELTC's production of 'Lost on the Natchez Trace' and to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of America's Emancipation Proclamation.

This year, 83 schools from region II of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival staged 210 productions. Of those 210, 68 were nominated to participate at the festival January 14 - 17 at The University of the Arts. Through a blind selection process, nine were selected for staging, and include everything from the classic Shakespeare comedy 'Love's Labour's Lost' to new student-written and directed productions. $10 general admission tickets can be purchased for 45 minutes before the show.
