Dixon Place's new musical commission, WAR LESBIAN, will have its world premiere beginning December 5th. Featuring Erin Markey, this original musical, with book by Kristine Haruna Lee, music by Kathryn Hathaway and a cast of ten is directed by Jordan Fein in collaboration with harunalee.

The Bushwick Starr is proud to present the food was terrible, written by William Burke and directed by Mary Beth Easley. The show will run May 14-31 with performances Wednesdays-Saturdays at 8:00pm.

F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, continues its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the brand new Sheen Center in lower Manhattan with The Spring Fling: First Love, six new short plays by Halley Feiffer (How to Make Friends and Then Kill Them), Kate Gersten (Benefit of the Doubt), Jason Grote (Mad Men, Smash, Hannibal, 1001), Mark Sitko (Rocky Philly, Tube), Tommy Smith (White Hot, Pigeon), and Lauren Yee (The Hatmaker's Wife). Performances will be Thursday, May 1st through Sunday, May 11th with Wednesday through Saturday night performances at 8pm and Sunday matinees at 2p. The Bushwick Starr has announced its 2013-14 Season of Programming. The Season begins with its developing work program, the Propeller Project, which this year introduces a new piece by playwright, Kristine Haruna Lee. Main Stage shows feature an exciting line-up of theater artists: the TEAM (Mission Drift, Architecting), David Greenspan (The Myopia), Jennie MaryTai Liu (Soul Leaves Her Body), Daniel Fish and Andrew Dinwiddie (Tom Ryan Thinks He's James Mason Starring in a Movie by Nicholas Ray, Get Mad at Sin!), and William Burke (Furry). The ongoing community events and festivals, Puppets & Poets, Brooklyn Gypsy, and Big Green Theater, will continue to present new collaborative work geared towards our Bushwick neighborhood audience. And finally, the monthly Starr Reading Series will cultivate new plays in development from some of NYC's most exciting young playwrights.

Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, begins its exciting 2013 season with a grand scale production of the Tony Award-winning musical OLIVER!, previewing April 4, opening Thursday, April 11, and running through June 2, 2013. OLIVER! features an all-star cast of 35, led by Heidi Kettenring as 'Nancy' (National Tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Broadway in Chicago's Wicked, the World Premiere of Hero at Marriott Theatre, and Sweeney Todd at Drury Lane Theatre); Jeff Award winner John Reeger as 'Fagin' (The Iceman Cometh and A Christmas Carol at the Goodman Theatre, Amadeus at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Hamlet at Court Theatre, and Chicago at Marriott Theatre); J.D. Rodriguez as the 'Artful Dodger' (National Tour of A Christmas Story) and Brady Tutton as 'Oliver Twist' ('Tiny Tim' in A Christmas Carol at Drury Lane Theatre). The production is Directed and Choreographed by multi-Jeff Award winner Rachel Rockwell (Ragtime, The Sound of Music and Sweeney Todd at Drury Lane Theatre). Rockwell will direct both her mother, Glory Kissel, who stars as 'Mrs. Bedwin' (Pericles at the Goodman Theatre and Anyone Can Whistle at Ravinia), and her son, Jake Helm, who plays an orphan. Her husband, Garth Helm, provides Sound Design.
