Jim Caruso's Cast Party has always been a shockingly eclectic refuge for talented types, but Monday night's impromptu guest list was one for the books. Seen onstage and in the audience were pop culture icon/performer Weird Al Yankovic, 5-time Grammy-nominee Michael Feinstein, 'American Idol' finalist Kimberley Locke, Lindsay Pearce from 'Glee' and 'The Glee Project,' Drake Bell from Nickelodeon's 'Drake & Josh,' Domenic Scaglione (Frankie in Jersey Boys), New York Pops conductor Stephen Reineke, Andrea Fryerson (The Lion King), Victoria Shaw (songwriter, 'The River' and producer, Lady Antebellum), multi-platinum-selling recording artist Jim Brickman, Superbowl champ/singer Benjamin Utecht, Broadway's Max Von Essen, and Amra-Faye Wright (currently Velma Kelly in Chicago)...among many, many others!

Jim Caruso's Cast Party is an extreme open mic that has been running every Monday for the past eight years at Birdland, the historic music room in Manhattan's Theater District. It's also a bi-monthly event at The Magic Castle in Los Angeles. Stars like Martin Short, Carol Channing, Cheyenne Jackson, Michael Feinstein, Liza Minnelli, Melissa Manchester and Tony Bennett have all joined in on the fun and impromptu performances - sharing the stage with Broadway chorus cuties, jazzers and composers.

In just two weeks, on September 22nd, Performance Network Theatre will launch its 30th anniversary season with a Gala cabaret featuring a variety of beloved local acts. Entertainment for the event was announced today with popular singing trio The Chenille Sisters and Grammy winner Bill Bolcom and Joan Morris at the top of the list. Each act will perform a cabaret set on the evening's theme 'Diamonds and Pearls' to coincide with the modern and traditional gifts for a 30th anniversary.

Mark Rylance to Star in TWELFTH NIGHT at the Globe?

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Mark Rylance will likely bring JERUSALEM back to the UK this fall, but the Tony winner is also hoping to make an appearance at Shakespeare's Globe, according to Whatsonstage.com. Rylance plans to bring back an all-male version of Twelfth Night, which he starred in in 2002.

JERUSALEM, a new play by Jez Butterworth and starring Tony and Olivier Award-winner Mark Rylance opened April 21 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street), in a production directed by Ian Rickson. JERUSALEM originally opened at The Royal Court Theatre in July, 2009 with critics praising Jez Butterworth for his beautiful and comic elegy for a disappearing way of life in rural England and actor Mark Rylance, who was lauded as delivering one of the great stage performances of our time. The production played an extended sold out run at the Royal Court, before moving to the Apollo Theatre in the West End in January, 2010, where it received an unprecedented set of five-star reviews from 12 London newspapers.
