West End performer, Strictly Come Dancing favourite and television actor Danny Mac has been confirmed to join the UK tour of Amelie The Musical, based on the much-loved, five-time Oscar-nominated film. Joining previously announced French-Canadian stage and screen star Audrey Brisson as Amelie Poulain, Danny Mac will play the sweet daydreamer Nino Quincampoix from 22 May. The role of Nino will be played by Chris Jared during performances at The Watermill Theatre.
Today, Carole Shorenstein Hays and Sonia Friedman Productions with Tom Kirdahy announced the additional casting for the West Coast Premiere of the Good Chance Theatre, National Theatre and Young Vic production of THE JUNGLE by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson at San Francisco's Curran. Set in Europe's largest unofficial refugee camp in Calais, France, the Jungle became a temporary home for more than 10,000 people in 2015. Under the direction of Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin, the limited engagement begins Tuesday March 26, 2019 and will run through Sunday, May 19, 2019. Opening night is Thursday, April 4, 2019. Theatre Royal Bath Productions today announces full casting for its 2019 Spring Season in-house productions in the Main House, opening next month with Noel Coward's A Song at Twilight followed by Marie Jones' award-winning comedy Stones in His Pockets, in a co-production with Rose Theatre Productions. Simon Callow, Jane Asher, Jessica Turner and Ash Rizi will star in A Song at Twilight directed by Stephen Unwin running in Bath from 13 to 23 February with opening night for press on 20 February and then touring the UK through to mid-April. Stones in His Pockets will preview in Kingston from 28 February and open in Bath in March, ahead of a national tour running through the summer, starring Owen Sharpe and Kevin Trainor and directed by Lindsay Posner.
'Check-in/Check-out', premiering March 6-10 at VAULT Festival 2019, is a new play devised by Outside Edge Theatre Company's ensemble of actors in recovery from substance misuse. The UK's only theatre company with a focus on addiction, Outside Edge has worked with performers in recovery for twenty years to create productions that examine issues related to substance misuse, addiction and recovery. Plunging the audience into the heart of addiction, 'Check-in/Check-out' presents the performers' personal narratives of recovery and positions these stories in context next to contributing social factors.
