Wayside Theatre Announces Fussell Award Winners

The Wayside Theatre Artist Director, Warner Crocker announced today that the T. Carter Fussell Awards recipients. Awards were presented to the individual winners from the local High School's prior to Thursday, September 2nd performance of 'Striking 12.' The following area High Schools participated in the T Carter Fussell Program 2009-2010 school year: James Wood High School, Sherando High School, Clarke County High School, Warren County High School, and Skyline High School.

Wayside Theatre, in Middletown, VA, presents the musical comedy, STRIKING 12, as its third production of the 2010/2011 season from August 28th to September 25th. Opening Night is Sunday, August 29 at 6:30pm. The remaining schedule of performances is Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday's at 2:30 pm. Ticket prices are $30 to $25 dollars for adults. Prices for children 5 to 17 are $10 for any performance. Discounts are available for students and seniors. Wayside Theatre Undertakes $40,000 Challenge

A generous benefactor is working to help Wayside Theatre raise $40,000 before July 3. He's offered the theatre a challenge. If Wayside Theatre and its supporters can raise $20,000 by July 3rd he'll match that dollar for dollar with $20,000 providing some much needed support to the Shenandoah Valley's only full-time professional theatre that operates year round.

Writers' Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce that A Minister's Wife, Writers' Theatre's musical adapted from George Bernard Shaw's Candida, will be produced by Lincoln Center Theater in the 2010-11 season. The original musical was conceived and directed by Michael Halberstam, adapted by Austin Pendleton with music by Joshua Schmidt and lyrics by Jan Tranen. The Lincoln Center production will be directed by Halberstam. Performances begin on Thursday, April 7, 2011 and opens on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street, New York City).
