Two River Theater launches its 2017/18 Season with Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, directed by Carl Cofield. Broadwayworld.com interviewed Charlie Hudson III who plays Asagai in the production. The show will be on the Red Bank stage from 9/9 to 10/8.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that a production of Eugene O'Neill's THE ICEMAN COMETH will play the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre beginning March 22nd, 2018. The production's opening night is currently set for April 26, 2018.

Last Monday night, the Addison Theatre Center was abuzz, eagerly anticipating the directorial debut of WaterTower Theatre's new Artistic director, Joanie Schultz and the play HIT THE WALL that she carried with her from her previous Chicago home, the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. When the house opened, actors milled about the stage, an enthusiastic indie band jamming away behind them, casually greeting ticket buyers as they took their seats. And, although we weren't yet sure if we were there to witness humor or horror, we entered ready for a riot.

WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Hit the Wall by multi-award-winning playwright Ike Holter. Hit the Wall will be directed by Joanie Schultz, and marks her WTT directorial inauguration. Repertory Theater presents the inaugural Professional Training Institute's production of So Thrive My Soul, in the Stiemke Studio July 13 - 16, 2017. The Professional Training Institute (PTI) is a free yearlong advance actor training program for students in 8th-12th grade who may have an interest in pursuing a career as a professional theater artist.

Nashville Repertory Theatre announces Broadway star and former Tennessee Titan Eddie George as this year's Honorary Chair for Nashville Rep's Broadway Brunch, Sunday, May 7, at City Winery. After a national tour of Chicago and his successful run as Walter Lee Younger in A Raisin in the Sun, George will help support the Rep in its annual fundraiser. 

Spring is here! Why doesn't my heart go dancing? Well, Mr. Lorenz Hart, personally, we are too damn busy with creating the magic of live theater: We're directing a show (Daddy's Dyin'…Who's Got the Will? opens next week - April 20 - at The Larry Keeton Theatre in Donelson, thank you very much) and trying to make it out to see as much theater in Nashville as possible before old age takes its toll - it's tough out there for a theater critic!

Lorraine Hansberry's groundbreaking play A Raisin in the Sun is making Arena Stage its home for the next five weeks and it should not be missed.

The 'play that changed American theater forever' (New York Times) comes to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater for the first time ever this spring. Due to popular demand, the production has been extended for one week with eight additional performances, running now through May 7, 2017 in the Fichandler Stage.
