DoubleTree by Hilton Opens First Property in Lafayette, Louisiana

Hilton Worldwide and DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Lafayette, located near the city's vibrant downtown and less than three miles from Lafayette Regional Airport. Formerly a Hilton hotel, the property has undergone a $12 million transformation that includes a total redesign of the lobby, updated guest rooms, new furniture throughout the public areas, renovated pool and sun deck, reconstructed porte-cochère and revamped restaurant and bar concepts. The hotel is owned by Garrison Wright Prop Co JV LLC and managed by Hospitality Management Advisors.
Hilton Worldwide Introduces Embassy by Hilton Brand in China

Hilton Worldwide today announced the signing of a management agreement with Syncept Investment Group Co., Ltd for Embassy by Hilton Bo'ao, marking the entry of its Embassy by Hilton brand in China. It will also be the first Embassy by Hilton to be signed in Asia Pacific. Located in Hainan province, China, at Binhai Avenue in the north of Bo'ao, the 300-room hotel is scheduled to open in 2019 and will compete in the upper-upscale, five-star segment catering to domestic and international travelers to Bo'ao, one of Hainan's most popular MICE and leisure destinations.

Scripps Award for Extraordinary Commitment to Promoting the Power of Language In Classical and Contemporary Theatre at Theatre for a New Audience's Spring Gala Celebrating Shakespeare's Birthday. New York, NY—April 22, 2015—For his largest presentation in the U.S. to date, Philippe Parreno orchestrates a scripted series of events within the monumental interior of Park Avenue Armory's Wade Thompson Drill Hall—transforming the traditional exhibition experience through an interplay of film, sculpture, and the spectral presence of sound and light. H {N)Y P N(Y} OSIS (pronounced hypnosis) features recitals by pianist Mikhail Rudy and a soundscape designed by Nicolas Becker that respond to Parreno's work and the Armory's expansive 55,000-square-foot space. Choreographed together by Parreno, these works form an all encompassing and continuously evolving artistic composition of operatic proportions.
Paul Moravec & Terry Teachout to Create New Work Honoring John V. Sinclair's 25th Anniversary with Bach Festival Society of Winter Park

Bach Festival Society of Winter Park is pleased to announce the commissioning of a new work in celebration of conductor and artistic director John V. Sinclair's 25th anniversary with the Society. The piece, titled Music, Awake!, with music by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Paul Moravec and words by distinguished author Terry Teachout, celebrates the universal power of music. It will be premiered during concerts with the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra on April 16 and 17, 2016. Terry Teachout and Paul Moravec are experienced collaborators, having premiered three operas in recent years for companies such as The Santa Fe Opera and Philadelphia's Center City Opera Theater.
