The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) will continue its 34th Season in the Gothic setting of First Congregational Church of Los Angeles (540 South Commonwealth Avenue) on March 16th and 17th with its performance of "Awakenings," featuring special guests Vox Femina Los Angeles (VOX) and the new youth chorus, Outside Voices.

More than 20 choirs, music ensembles and dance companies from the many neighborhoods and cultures of L.A. celebrate the season during this free three-hour extravaganza.

The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) will kick off its 34th Season when it returns to the Alex Theatre (216 N. Brand Boulevard) in Glendale, CA on December 15th and 16th for its annual holiday musical extravaganza, "Holiday Spectacular 2012," with special guests Creative Planet School of the Arts.

Gustavo Dudamel will lead the combined forces of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela - joined by the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Los Angeles Children's Chorus and community choruses - in a performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 8, known as the 'Symphony of a Thousand,' at the historic Shrine Auditorium for a spectacular performance with over 1000 musicians and singers. A roster of vocal soloists will also take part.

Two Los Angeles based institutions, Vox Femina Los Angeles and CONTRA-TIEMPO, joined forces on Saturday, March 19th with a production of NUESTRA VOCES at the Zipper Concert Hall. The Herbert Zipper Concert Hall at The Colburn School was completed in 1998, making it about 70 years younger than LACO's other regular concert venues.

Under the collaborative efforts of both Vox Femina Los Angeles' Artistic Director, Dr. Iris S. Levine, and CONTRA-TIEMPO's Artistc Director, Ana Maria Alvarez, Vox Femina second concert of their new season offers a performance that is a syncopated, sensual, sumptuous program of music and dance that may just have you dancing in the aisles! Vox collaborates with CONTRA-TIEMPO, a unique Latin dance theatre ensemble based in Los Angeles. The ensemble is dedicated to transforming the world through dance. Together, with Vox Femina Los Angeles, the two artistic groups will combine in the presentation of works that are the result of a shared exploration of one another's art form. The performance will also feature each ensemble showcasing its own art form. Other instrumental performers include the highly respected talents of Cristian Graces and Robert Fernandez. Concert contents include the music of Argentina, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia and Latin dances such as Merengue, Tango, Joropo, Baiao as well as Vox favorites Duerme Negrito, Maquerule, Maximina and Te Quiero.

On Sunday January 30, 2011 from 2-5pm, children and parents alike gathered at Cantwell Sacred Heart High School (329 N. Garfield Ave, Montebello, CA 90640) who wanted to learn to sing like a Vox member or to dance the Mergengue? The FREE workshop featured choral group favorite Vox Femina singers and the fabulous dancers from CONTRA-TIEMPO! It didn't really matter if participants were tone-deaf or born with two left feet, because the event was geared for fun! An eclectic crowd gathered to try to make some magic. Described by Vox Femina's Artistic Director, Dr. Iris Levine, as 'A doozy of a time for the whole family!' The workshop was a predecessor of the upcoming collaborative efforts between Vox Femina Los Angeles' and CONTRA-TIEMPO's, concert NUESTRAS which offers a performance that is a syncopated, sensual, sumptuous program of music and dance that may just have you dancing in the aisles! It was a standing room only crowd, of both Jewish and gentile patrons, that gathered at Zipper Hall in downtown Los Angeles Saturday Nov 13th as Vox Femina launched their 2010-2011 season with VOX JUDAICA.

Tonight Show's Vicki Randle recently joined Vox Femina Los Angeles to perform a concert for 'Mother Earth' at Zipper Hall.
