Piven Theatre Presents THREE SISTERS 10/16-11/21

Piven Theatre Workshop extends its 2009-10 season with the Chicago premiere of Sarah Ruhl's adaptation of Chekov's Three Sisters, directed by Artistic Director Emeritus Joyce Piven. The production will run October 16 - November 21, 2010 at Piven Theatre Workshop, 927 Noyes Street

Wellesley College Presents WOMEN OF WILL, 10/15-16

The Boston-area premiere of Tina Packer's acclaimed performance of 'Women of Will' is the centerpiece of Shakespearean Character on Trial, a two-day series of events that brings together some of the most recognized theater producers and academic authorities on Shakespeare. Sponsored by the Susan and Donald Newhouse Center for the Humanities at Wellesley College, it will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct.15-16. All events are free and open to the public.

Rush, Rickman, Shaw & More Set for BAM in 2011

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, today announced programming for the BAM 2011 Spring Season, which runs from Jan 7 through Jun 11, 2011. The season comprises eight theater, opera, and dance engagements and features BAMcinématek series, BAMcafé Live weekend music events, artist talks, visual art exhibitions, and literary events.

American Conservatory Theater Features Irwin in SCAPIN, Sept. 16-Oct. 10

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) opens its 2010-11 season with the return of two-time Tony Award winner and A.C.T. favorite Bill Irwin (Fool Moon at A.C.T., Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? on Broadway, and the award-winning film Rachel Getting Married) to the Bay Area in his hilarious reimagining of Molière's Scapin. In this lively baggy-pants comedy, the rascally title character balances his penchant for mayhem and mischief with a promise to help two pairs of wide-eyed lovers.

Playwrights Horizons Opens 40th Anniversary Season with ME, MYSELF & I, 8/24-10/10

Rehearsals are now underway for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) New York premiere of Edward Albee's ME, MYSELF & I, a new play by the three-time Pulitzer Prize and three-time Tony Award winner (A Delicate Balance; Seascape; Three Tall Women; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia?). The production opens the theater company's 40th Anniversary Season, in which Mr. Albee will be making his Playwrights Horizons debut. The play is Mr. Albee's 30th.

TimeLine Presents Chicago Premiere of FROST/NIXON 8/21-10/10

TimeLine Theatre Company opens its 2010-11 season with the Chicago premiere of Frost/Nixon by Peter Morgan, directed by TimeLine Associate Artist Louis Contey. Frost/Nixon runs August 21 - October 10, 2010 (previews August 17 through August 20) at TimeLine Theatre, 615 W. Wellington Ave., Chicago.

TimeLine Theatre Company Finalizes 2010-11 Season

TimeLine Theatre Company, dedicated to presenting plays inspired by history that connect to today's social and political issues, has finalized its four-play 2010-11 season. The Chicago premiere of In Darfur by Winter Miller, directed by Nick Bowling, joins three previously released titles: The Chicago premiere of Frost/Nixon by Peter Morgan, the world premiere of Mastering the Art by William Brown and Doug Frew, and The Front Page by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur.

LEND ME A TENOR Closes In Plymouth, Oct 6

Ian Talbot will direct Peter Sham and Brad Carroll's new musical comedy, Lend Me A Tenor The Musical, based on the award-winning West End and Broadway hit comedy by Ken Ludwig. A riotous, unpredictable explosion of mistaken identities and unexpected romance, Lend Me A Tenor The Musical will run at the Theatre Royal Plymouth from 24 September - 6 October 2010, prior to an anticipated West End run in the Autumn which will be produced by Martin Platt and David Elliott in association with Eileen and Allen Anes.
