Sierra Rep to Stage LES MISERABLES, 3/1-5/4

Sierra Repertory Theatre opens its 2014 season this March with the epic Les Miserables. The production - complete with a huge cast, complex characters and elaborate costumes and sets - will also mark the start of SRT's 35th Anniversary season. It plays March 1 through May 4 at Sierra Rep's East Sonora Stage.

Broadway Palm will present the musical phenomenon Les Miserables playing February 20 through April 12, 2014. Based on Victor Hugo's classic novel, Les Miserables is an epic story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption; a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Critics have hailed it as 'one of the best musicals of all time,' and no less than 'a certified phenomenon; a marvel of musical theatre.'

In Murder In Pigalle (Soho Crime | March 4th, 2014) Aimée Leduc is thrust into the middle of a terrifying case set in Paris' infamous Pigalle red light district at a time when she is trying very hard to be good. Or better. Her lifestyle has slowed down a bit and she's trying to manage her work-life a bit better than she has in the past. After all, she has more than herself to look after these days. A reminder of which is evidenced by her diminishing wardrobe. She's five-months pregnant and things just don't fit like they used to. Chic and baby are two four letter words that do not get along.

North Carolina Theatre (NCT) and Broadway Series South welcomed their blend of Broadway veterans, NYC actors and local talent for LES MISERABLES, opening tonight, February 11, and continuing through February 23. The show will star Raleigh's own Lauren Kennedy, reprising the role of 'Fantine' she played on Broadway, alongside her real-life daughter Riley Campbell as 'Young Cosette'. Broadway veterans Craig Schulman as 'Jean Valjean' and Chuck Wagner as 'Javert' round out this star-studded cast. Check out a first look below!

North Carolina Theatre (NCT), the region's premier producer of professional Broadway musicals, in association with Broadway Series South, is excited to announce that casting has begun for their February 2014 production of LES MISERABLES directed by Dave Clemmons which will play at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. This will be the theatre's first time producing this timeless classic.

Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie and the new musical Nine Wives (by Douglas J. Cohen and Dan Elish) will play Stage 2 in the Bok Gallery. The Youth Theatre will present the Tony-winning Spring Awakening.

After months of rampant public speculation, Drayton Entertainment's Artistic Director Alex Mustakas today announced Les Miserables as the organization's flagship production for the 2014 Season. The coup is the result of Mustakas trying for years to secure the rights to one of the biggest and most successful productions in Broadway history. The epic musical will take centre stage at the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge June 11th to August 2nd, and theHuron Country Playhouse in Grand Bend August 7th to August 30th.

The three World Premieres, along with Academy Co-Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev's restaging of Le Roi S'Amuse, are performed by the international members of the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 East Randolph Drive, one night only, Saturday, March 1 at 7:00 pm.
