New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, this summer celebrating the 31st Powerhouse Season, have announced the first round of casting for their summer collaboration, which runs June 26 - August 2 at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.

Juilliard Drama's Class of 2015, known at Juilliard as Group 44, has created G44 Productions, a developer and producer of original creative content introducing the eighteen members of Group 44. Spearheaded by second-year Juilliard actor and Group 44 member Max Woertendyke, G44 Production's first release is 18 Actors, featuring all members of Group 44 and their expression of one simple, silent action.

Sam Rockwell, Jessica Hecht and Ana Reeder lead A Streetcar Named Desire at Williamstown Theatre Festival, which began performances on June 22 and runs through July 3. The Public's THE BACCHAE Opens In The Park 8/24

The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Euripides' THE BACCHAE, directed by JoAnne Akalaitis with original music by Philip Glass and translated by Nicholas Rudall, will run through August 30 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The official press opening takes place tonight, Monday, August 24 at 8 p.m. Performances of Shakespeare in the Park will be Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced casting for the Shakespeare in the Park production of Euripides' THE BACCHAE, directed by JoAnne Akalaitis with original music by Philip Glass and translated by Nicholas Rudall. THE BACCHAE will run August 11-August 30 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park with an official press opening on Monday, August 24 at 8 p.m. Bank of America returns as lead sponsor of Shakespeare in the Park 2009.
