BBC Worldwide America Sales & Distribution and PBS announced today they have signed a deal that brings a second season of the critically-acclaimed British drama CALL THE MIDWIFE to PBS, with new episodes to start airing tonight, March 31, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Seduction and power, desire and sex are themes of David Ives' dark comedy Venus in Fur, receiving its Philadelphia premiere at Philadelphia Theatre Company May 24-June 23 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). Directed by Kip Fagan, the two-person cast features Mark Alhadeff and Jenni Putney.

Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave currently star in the world premiere of Eisenberg's The Revisionist, directed by Kip Fagan, which began its limited run on February 6 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. Now according to the New York Times, the show wil extend yet again, now closing on April 27. Plus, the show is looking into a possible Broadway transfer for the 2013-14 season.

Culture Project will rename their mainstage theatre, currently known as 45 Bleecker Street, the Lynn Redgrave Theatre this June. The announcement was made onstage by Mr. Buchman during the opening night curtain call for Culture Project's current production of Shaheed: The Dream and Death of Benazir Bhutto. A naming ceremony and commemorative gala in honor of the late Ms. Redgrave will take place on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Stage 48 (605 West 48th Street, New York City). Honorary Chairs for the evening are Vanessa Redgrave, Liam Neeson, and Ms. Redgrave's three children Annabel Clark, Ben Clark, and Pema Clark.

According to the Daily Mail, Mark Rylance will star as Thomas Cromwell, Henry VIII's chief minister, in a six-part BBC mini-series adaptation of Hilary Mantel's popular novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies.

New York's Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announces the Los Angeles premiere of the critically-acclaimed play Slipping, written and directed by Daniel Talbott, which will begin previews Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Elephant Stages' Lillian Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that the world premiere of Buyer & Cellar, written by Jonathan Tolins, directed by Stephen Brackett, and performed by Michael Urie, will begin performances Wednesday, March 20 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, west of Seventh Avenue South. Opening night is set for Wednesday, April 3 at 7pm. Buyer & Cellar is scheduled to run through Saturday, May 4.

Broadway and Bucks County Playhouse Producing Director Jed Bernstein will be recognized at The Media Theatre Gala on Saturday February 23 for his contribution to the American theatre. He will receive the 2013 Achievement in The Theatre Award during the evening's pre-show ceremony, which will culminate with a performance by Broadway star Justin Guarini.
