Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre (Artistic Director Kira Simring) has announced their 2023 season, featuring a year of full productions, art exhibitions, developmental workshops, and over 30 resident artists.

The New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce (NORBCC) has announced that LaVerne Toombs will lead the organization as the new Executive Director. Ms. Toombs brings over twenty years of experience in local and federal government, nonprofit, public relations and marketing, fundraising, grant writing, and business development.

The 23rd annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF), in partnership with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), will close out its Festival with the annual Community Day Showcase on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theatre, located in Overtown. The day includes a screening of films selected from the Festival's Social Impact Showcase, a conversation with Steven Caple, Jr., and a collection of short films created by Miami based student filmmakers.

Ensemble for the Romantic Century continues the 2018-19 season, ERC's 18th, with its final offering of the season, Hans Christian Andersen: Tales Real & Imagined by Eve Wolf.  Performances began April 13th for a limited run through May 25th, with opening night scheduled for May 5th
