ABC Studios Announce New 2013-2014 Series Orders

ABC Studios had another banner development year with nine new shows ordered to series. New dramas "Betrayal," "Killer Women," "Lucky 7," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," "Resurrection," along with new comedies "Trophy Wife" and "Mixology," were picked up at ABC. New drama "Intelligence" was ordered at CBS. ABC Studios had the most drama orders of any studio.

Today the Los Angeles Film Festival, presented by Film Independent, in conjunction with Presenting Media Sponsor the Los Angeles Times and Host Partner L.A. LIVE, announced its official US and international selections. Fox Searchlight Pictures' The Way, Way Back, written and directed by Oscar winners Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, will serve as the Closing Night film for the 2013 Festival.
Co-Grand Prize Winners Named at McCallum Theatre's OPEN CALL

Saxophonist Emma Reinhart and Vocalist April Murphy shared the Helen Turner Grand Prize Award at the McCallum Theatre's Annual Open Call Talent Competition on Saturday night, the first time in the event's fifteen year history the judges declared a tie for the top prize. The winners were announced by host (and Open Call 2011 Grand Prize winner) Rob Watkins following a rousing finale which featured all twenty-two finalist acts (76 individual performers) before a sold-out audience. The family of award namesake Helen Turner determined on the spot that each winner would receive the $2,500 grand prize.

York Theatre Company and its Developmental Reading Series presents the reading of the new musical, Howling Hilda, with book and lyrics by Anne Berlin, and music by Andrew Bleckner will be directed by Valentina Fratti, with music direction by Timothy Splain, and featuring Mary Testa. The reading, free and open to the public with a reservation, is set for one-performance only tonight, March 12th at 7:30 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Dopo due fortunatissime stagioni milanesi, il bus di PRISCILLA, LA REGINA DEL DESERTO 'parcheggia' nella Capitale accolto da una platea elettrizzata e folta d VIP - fra i tanti Paolo Bonolis, Francesco Pannofino, Cesare Bocci, Pippo Baudo, Rossella Brescia, Vladimir Luxuria... - che ieri, 24 gennaio ha buttato giù il Teatro Brancaccio a suon di applausi.

Ieri, 17 gennaio, ha debuttato in anteprima nazionale, presso l'Aula Magna della Sapienza, FANTASMI A ROMA, la favola musicale - basata sull'omonimo film del 1961 scritto e diretto da Antonio Pietrangeli - che aveva catturato la nostra attenzione grazie allo show case presentato il 30 giugno in piazza S. Silvestro e che finalmente abbiamo avuto modo di apprezzare nella sua interezza in forma di allestimento semi-scenico prodotto da Nota Preziosa di Massimo Sigillò Massara.
