In the second round of DANCING WITH THE STARS last night the remaining eight dancers were put into two teams two face off and earn additional points. Check out both team performances below!
Barneys New York, Marc Forster and Katherine Ross hosted a cocktail event celebrating the debut fragrance by Greg Lauren, part of the Barneys New York Designer Fragrance Collection on Tuesday, October 22nd at Greg Lauren's studio in Los Angeles. Scroll down for photos from the event!
Choreographed by ABC-Television's 'Dancing with the Stars' Emmy nominated Louis van Amstel, the Patchogue engagement features 'Dancing with the Stars' celebrity pros Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd, Anna Trebunskaya and Tristan MacManus; 'So You Think You Can Dance' finalists Jonathan 'Legacy' Perez, Jonathan Platero, Randi Lynn Strong and Jaymz Tuaileva; and 'American Idol' finalists Gina Glocksen and Von Smith.
Forget the mirrorball trophy. Tonight's finale wasn't a competition; it was a master class in movement and expression. No gimmicks necessary, no drama drawn out of thin air (despite Brooke Burke-Charve's best efforts), just really fantastic dancing.
After 10 weeks of entertaining, stylized dancing from Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff, Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough, Alexandra Raisman & Mark Ballas and Zendaya & Valentin Chmerkovskiy, only one couple will be crowned 'Dancing with the Stars' Champions. These four remaining couples will have one last opportunity to impress the judges and viewers on MONDAY, MAY 20, concluding with the Season Finale, TUESDAY, MAY 21 on the ABC Television Network.
Tonight's semifinal spectacular struck the perfect balance between gimmicks and knock-your-socks-off, wow performances. But at the heart of this heated competition for the mirrorball trophy is a naturally occurring spring of dramatic tension no amount of half-tone montages or hyperbolic metaphors could ever replicate: the hordes of soap-loving middle-aged women who could very well put Ingo through to the final despite his cringeworthy lack of coordination, leaving one of his wildly talented competitors out in the cold.
How do you follow up the delightful, glittering spectacle of nostalgia and shirtlessness that is prom night, you ask? With a heavy dose of sappy sentimentality, of course - and when that doesn't work, a bit more shirtlessness.
Picture, if you will, the most cringe-worthy walk down memory lane imaginable. I'm talking tacky dresses, bad hair and middle-aged men and women gyrating on the dance floor all in the name of reliving their glory days. By all counts, DANCING WITH THE STARS' prom night should have been just that train wreck. But ABC had the last laugh this April Fool's, because it was actually kind of awesome.
It may only be week two, but DANCING WITH THE STARS is already in full swing with enough walk-outs, breakdowns and resolve-shaking injuries to fuel a finale. This season's crop of B-listers and has-beens certainly know how to bring the petty drama. Unfortunately, that's about all most of them have to offer.
On last night's final episode of the first ever DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL STARS competition, Melissa Rycroft and her partner Tony Dovolani were crowned champions! The final round included competitors Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough and Kelly Monaco & Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Below, watch the tension-filled moment when Melissa finally won her well-earned mirror ball trophy!
In the final one-hour performance show on Monday, each of the couples will compete in two dances. All three couples will perform their favorite routine from the season, as well as a Super-Sized Freestyle. For their Freestyle, they'll be allowed to add extra performers, incorporating all kinds of lifts and tricks to create an out-of-this-world entertaining routine.
After 10 weeks of competitive dancing, All-Stars Kelly Monaco & Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani and Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough have proven they deserve to be in the finals. But only one couple will be crowned champions of "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars." The three women finalists will have their last chance to impress the judges and viewers on two final nights of competition, MONDAY, NOVEMBER 26 (8:00-9:01 p.m., ET), and concluding on the Season Finale, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
With only a week left in this season's DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL STARS - though still plenty of time for another trip to the hospital - two competitors must pack their bags, wipe that glitter/sweat combo from their brows, and head home. Keep reading to find out which two were eliminated, dreams of DANCING finals completely, totally dashed. Unless ABC orders ALL STARS: Round Two.
