The 2022 Studio Artist Program, under the leadership of Richard Gammon, will feature performances of The Fall of the House of Usher by Philip Glass on June 29 and July 1, 2022. The opera will be sung in English with English supertitles and performed with the full orchestration.

Today, TEDxBroadway organizers have announced more speakers for TEDxBroadway TEN on Tuesday, May 17 at 1pm Eastern.  The hybrid event – at New World Stages and exclusively livestreaming on Stellar, will gather a global community of changemakers to consider the central mission question, “What’s the BEST Broadway can be?”

The full producing team has been revealed for the Broadway production of A Strange Loop! Big names on the list include RuPaul, Don Cheadle, Jennifer Hudson, Mindy Kaling, Billy Porter, Alan Cumming, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and many others.

Due to Covid cases within the company, the first performance of A STRANGE LOOP will now begin on Thursday, April 14 at 8PM.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim presented a panel with the creative team of A Strange Loop. The panel featured: Stephen Brackett, director; Michael R. Jackson, book, music and lyrics; Raja Feather Kelly, choreographer; Peter Marks, moderator, staff writer for the 'Washington Post'; and Rona Siddiqui, music director & music supervisor.

Theatre Memphis’ newest production (CICADA) which opened this past weekend and runs through April 16th explores the difference between a memory and a ghost and what it means to be haunted by both. Memories, like ghosts, are just manifestations (internal versus external) of the people in our lives (often family) who shaped, loved, and inspired us. Or they’re recollections (real or imagined) of kinfolk who sometimes shamed, tormented, and frightened us. Perhaps they’re both. There’s an argument to be made (generally speaking) when people utter the phrase, “Family is forever,” it’s supposed to be a good thing, but what if it’s not? What if your family offers nothing but a long lineage of misery and pain? What to do? Where to go?

& Juliet has announced additional casting, including stage and screen veterans Keala Settle, Julius D'Silva, and Tom Francis. They will join the currently cast Olivier Award winners Miriam Teak-Lee and Cassidy Janson. Settle will play Nurse, Francis will play Romeo, and D'Silva will play the amorous Frechman, Lance. & Juliet is running at the Shaftesbury Theatre, where the show recently extended its booking period through until Saturday 24 September 2022.

American Lyric Theater (ALT) announced today InsightALT: Opera in Eden, a performance featuring three new one-act operas on themes of temptation developed by Resident Artists in the company’s nationally acclaimed Composer Librettist Development Program. ALT’s current Resident Artists (Composers Jasmine Barnes, Johanny Navarro, and Alex Weiser; and Librettists Joshua Banbury, Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton, and Marcus Yi) were selected from over 200 applicants to join the CLDP this season. Opera in Eden, which is the culminating event of the first year of these artists’ residency, will take place at National Sawdust in Brooklyn on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 at 7:00pm.

On the Tuesday, April 5 edition of “Tamron Hall,” comedian and actress Robin Thede joins Tamron in-studio to discuss her groundbreaking HBO comedy series “A Black Lady Sketch Show” and its upcoming third season. Thede opens up about her experience as a Black woman in comedy, paving the way for other Black writers and comedians. Later, supermodel Winnie Harlow joins the show to discuss her new skin care line CAY SKIN. Harlow shares how she was inspired to start her own skin care line and how she was able to turn her dreams into reality.

Freeform announces three new original series: “The Deep End,” “Dear Pony: Keep This Between Us” and “Day to Night” (working title). The nonfiction slate boasts two, four-part docu-series and an ensemble docu-follow, all targeted at the network’s young adult audience.
